Choosing the ideal exhaust

Hi guys,

I'm currently running the stock CT9 setup, using the stock 4efte manifold, downpipe and midpipe, followed by a custom made 2" catback exhaust, with a 2.5" backbox.
However, my goal is to have a free flowing exhaust system, that won't be too loud, yet can make some decent power on a td04l setup.

1. Based on your experiences, how would you describe a HKS silent highpower, with a td04l setup at 1.2bar?

2. Will it's smaller diameter midpipe restrict the flow from the WEPR downpipe?

3. Can i still use my current custom made exhaust?

Thanking you in advance... Cheers.

If you want TD04 on 1.2 bar then a 50mm exhaust will hold you back slightly.
Just use 3 free flow silencers?
Or do a Y pipe with a side exit with a flap on the side exit and then a nice silent exhaust to the back :p

Actually, that's not a bad idea, with the use of a varex system...

2.5" is really the ideal diameter for most applications (including ct9). unless you are going for big power.

HKS silent is far better than stock..but its still a fairly restrictive exhaust.

I think i'll take your advice, as i bought a WEPR manifold combo, and you know quite a bit about starlets.

Yea it sounds unreal on full tilt :) can get a bit annoying on long journeys(says my missus) but not extreme. Sat ticking over standing at the front the fan is louder o_O

out of all the commercially available (off the shelf) exhaust systems for the EP's...blitz would be the least restrictive. FGK power-getter is also similarly restrictive like the HKS silent units.

Our WEPR turbo back systems are hand down the best on the market, better than anything available off the shelf. but sadly we dont export them any more due to massive freight costs.
