so this is just out of interest but what is the highest revving car on the site ??

what would it be safe for me to raise my limit too on the forged engine ??

what is needed to raise the limit safely ??

thanks as always :):)

Probs best to find out what and where your peak power is in the rev range, no need to rev above that when you know.:)

want revs?? buy a v-tec...lol... i do change at around 5500 when im goosing it... think its pointless hitting the limiter on a turbo charged car

I don't rev my scooby past 6,500 revs as there is no point pulls better when you change at that rev also scooby engines don't like to be revved and go cabooooom if the revved high. once set up and mapped find when your peak power is at what ever revs and go from there.

good point , i guess that would be late in the rpms with the td05 :p:p

probs so should be laggy enough on the starlet so high enough on the rev range, on scoobys you don't get full boost till around 4,000-4,500 on that size of tubby.

really that late im getting 1 bar just before 5k on the 1.3 :p

and i dont really mind the lag either there is plenty of power off boost and saves petrol driving off boost also but when the turbo does come in hold on ha ha .torque steer ftw !!!

Thats good on my turbo ihi vf22 i dont get full boost till around 4,500 then it is like a kick in the chest when she gets going.pins you the seat.

im hoping for 1.6 bar about 5500rpm but want to raise my rev limit as it only gives me about 2000 rpm to play with ya know

im up a spin before ya get it mapped and after to see the difference:)

rev to bout 7000 with jam ecu but it will go all the way to 8000 i think:homer:

dont often go above 5500-6000 on the gt, as has been said theres no need with a turbo. btw on my old swift it would bounce off the limiter at 8600 all day, sounded like a f#@king plane at full tilt lol

On a stock CT9 setup the sweet spot is about 5.5k to 6k. Anymore over that and it starts to tail off and loose power.

i have a basically stock 5efhe only internal mod is the wiseco standard bore forged pistons. i rev to 8100 all day every day.:rockon:

car makes 304 whp at 8000 rpm. looking to retune and make some more power

On the 05 i rev to the stock limiter. I feel it could do with rising it though as if i dont hit it twice i can lose boost through the gears.

i think we need to learn from jamica our builds cost 4x the amount of what ye pay , and get the same results:)

ya surely you can raise it to nearly 8k the jam ecu raises the limit to around that anyway does it not ,they wouldnt do it unless it was safe ??

id be wanting to rev it to at leased 7500 or 8 running a tdo5 on a 1.3 lad .as said you find it out quickly on a rr when tunening what best suits the tdo5 on your engine build:)
