I'm running 165bhp and my clutch is slipping a bit sometimes it's the standard 1 since new I'm guessing, I'm putting it up to 1bar in a couple of days before a 1/4 mile event would it be ok until then do you think or would it be best to change it?

Ta in advance

Yea I know, but will it rapidly decline with more boost or do they hold out a bit? I'm asking that as I haven't changed a clutch before and don't want to fiddle and not be able to go down the strip at all? Also would a new standard clutch be fine with around 180bhp?

no you'll need an uprated clutch at that. it'll hold out but it'll be for fuk all on take off/on boost, revs will just go up. if you dont know what your doing, get it done professionally, not something you want to balls up on your own.

Eh, ain't it slipping? Mine was slipping sumtimes when standard so I hav no chance when I put the boost up

iam running just over 200bhp with the standard clutch and its ok atm, all depends on your driving style really, abviously i know it wont last long but if your driving hard all the time you will cook the clutch on standard power.
if your planning more boost that extra bit of torque might cause the clutch to slip more so you wont be able to do you 1/4 run. also a slipping cluch isnt good for your flywheel so i get it changed if it gets to bad.

it is. but driving style does come into it too. you give the clutch a hard time and it will slip, even with stock power

Get urself a CAP clutch direct from them on their site, works out around £180 incl delivery and rated up to around 270ft lbs i think. They don't list one for Starlets but order one for MR2.
