Forged engine carbon build up on pistons?

Tbh I don't think any of them are really worth bothering with as the concentration and contact time is so short. I have used redex in my ultrasonic cleaner to clean Injectors myself and it seems to do something and costs peanuts.

Forged engine carbon build up on pistons?

Just done a leak down test and all good. I got some redex as was on offer in the supermarket, so will chuck that In just to tick that box. Nothing is pointing to an issue, it's a hard one to work out!!!!

Forged engine carbon build up on pistons?

No noticeable drop in oil level, I do have a leak from the cam cover somewhere that I need to attempt to repair again. I have tried all the normal things for valve stem oil seals like excessive amounts of overrun and then flooring the throttle and nothing. Usage wise, it is generally fairly...

Forged engine carbon build up on pistons?

Picking this one back up again as it is still an issue :( I'm still getting build up on top of the pistons that is oily. Number 2 piston is the worst. It cleans off quite easily with a rotary plastic brush. Done compression test on a few more occasions under different conditions and am in...

    Clutch Line Replacement

There isn't much point replacing the hard lines if they Rent damaged or rusty etc. you can replace the Flexi with braided as it will last longer than an already 30 year old rubber hose, but you won't feel any different from it. It's not like a brake system where it comes to a stop when the pads...

    Ebay uprated alternator

I bought a starter motor for my rx8 from that seller. Decent quality stuff. Rebuilding an alternator is cheap though. Starlet alternators are simple to do. Parts cost about £30 all in and then it is as good as new :)

Oil pump replacement tips? Best sealant?

I've never had any issues with bog standard rtv sealant. Just make sure you apply it on clean, oil free surface and don't put too much on. Let it cure 24 hours and you should grand A little tip (which most rtv sealant packaging suggest anyway) is to nip up hand tight, leave for about an hour...

    Rear foot brake poor?

Thanks. Well I am going to try new lines to begin with as they are the original rubber ones, so they really could do with swapping out anyway. If that doesn't work, then I will get a new valve. Looks like a pig to access though :(

    Rear foot brake poor?

I assume these are a throw away item and can't be rebuilt? Any idea whether you can get new from anywhere? I thought they were pretty bullet proof???

    Rear foot brake poor?

I was going to give them a re-bleed just in case. Although the brake pedal does feel good.

    Rear foot brake poor?

I finally got round to rebuilding my rear calipers after years of scaping by with a poor handbrake. Handbrake is now good, but on the MOT brake test the foot brake action on the rear is poor. Any ideas on what this could be? Brakes are balanced and the fronts are decent, it's just the rears...
