New bolts have been used. Been torquing at 16Ft/Ib, 32Ft/Ib & 90Degrees. The CR now must be much higher, thus creating the weak point of the headgasket. Much experience with Athena's, Mike?

Fuelling is taken care of by standard injectors and a JAM. Any reputable spanner thrower knows that fuelling, only in extreme circumstances, can't cause HG failure in this manner. I recon the standard bolts will be upto it then? And maybe fit a 1.2mm Athena?

I did a compression test this morning... With the tester in #4, on cranking, the radiator was like a steam train stack! It seems anything over a bar and it doesn't like the setup. Back to 1.0 on a new gasket :)

Does anybody know if the standard 17mm core'd GT Radiator, was fitted as stock to a car sold in the UK? Like a 1.6 Corolla or something? My radiator guy can't get anything to import spec, but can obv. get anything UK... Thanks in advance, rep waiting, :rockon:
