Chris buddy you are correct.
But here at my altitude 8.5 makes the best power and spool up time.
And we can do 1.8bar with 8.5 CR, can boost more but then cylinder wash starts to play a role.
I would also stay away from that "chrome" look but still smooth it good :)

yes you will,

the reason for not polishing the intake side is to create swirl to attomise the fuel, when the fuel attomises you get a much beter flame and burn, if you polish the intake you get very little fuel attomisation, and thus a weak burn, and it can cause jerky running when off boost, and increased chances of dett when at full chat because of the poor burn.

even on injection engines skalabala, although the effect isnt needed as much as with a carb engine it is still needed, fuel is heavy and denser than air and will fall to bottom of the walls, when polished the fuel sticks to the walls and therefore does not atomise aswell as it could, with a rough surface it is made impossible for the fuel to stick to the walls,
