longer 2nd gear for a track car

Hi


My friend is racing a starlet in our local stock car racing with a forged 4e on a td04 and he needs a longer second gear as he is limiting quite a bit before the corners . he wants to be going as fast as possible before having to go hard on the breaks


any suggestions on what he could do ? any other gearboxes with longer gearing

Some of the ep80s had a 4 speed box Andy,im pretty sure they are geared longer.

I think the gt gearbox has slightly longer ratios then the glanza box.

There is also the option for a lower final drive ratio, but this will make all the gears longer.

Is he hitting the rev limit in 2nd ? can he increase his rpm up to 8k ? bigger wheels..
