Hey guys,

We've had unique situation which has led to the development of our CT9 Hybrid turbo.

Over here the Starlets/Glanzas run in a homologated race class where you are allowed to upgrade the CT9 to a hybrid as long as it retains stock compressor/turbine housings.

There by, our mission from the start was to come up with the best hybrid combo despite the extremely restrictive regulations. Max power and spool over the stock unit was priority.

There were three areas which we wanted to address...

Larger billet wheel... instead of taking an existing wheel and adapting it to fit the turbo (which is what most people do)...we completely redesigned a new/larger billet wheel to fit our requirement.

Exhaust side... we have utilized a new wheel to further improve flow

lastly..We improved the internals and oil flow to the CHRA there by improving durability.

Mods on the car:

Stock 4EFTE motor/head, LINK Monsoon ecu, WEPR Godzilla manifold/downpipe/screamer, WEPR 2.5" exhaust & WEPR Fmic upgrade kit (Garrett core)

with supporting mods and stock CT9 (max tune)...the car made a respectable 130whp@0.95bar on our heart breaking Mainline Dyno (grey line).

Moderate tune 1.2bar netted a 162whp .. +32whp gain.

Next it was time for final tune...

189whp@1.3bar...our hybrid is efficient up to 1.4bar...but we will just leave it as is for now... Almost +60whp gain with no loss in spool.

Pretty Happy with the outcome..you can expect much more horsepower on a DynoJet or DynoDynamics

Originally we had no plans of supplying these overseas because they are costly and cores are hard to come by locally.

These are now available for sale @ $1250 shipped (includes core charge). every part has been manufactured in the USA (no Chinese nonesense).

Would be happy to hear your thoughts and comments... Let me know what y'all think...

Those are impressive figures Sacha, quite a noticeable improvement over stock that's for sure and great to see the graphs for proof - Removes the guesswork!

Would make a good sleeper option for the ct9 users out there.

Actually glad to see you post with all the madness going on over there. Stay safe bro.

1.3 bar on a stock engine :cool: suppose its safe enough with the correct tune tho :)
Hybrid turbo wheels are a thing of beauty, when my gt-four got the hybrid it was almost to good looking to dirty :D, the compressor house was machined to acept the larger wheel, exhaust the same, the diffrence sat beside the standard ct26 wqs quite something !

thank you sir...!!! we had an issue with our boost controller..it would go up to 1.3bar and then settle at 1.1bar (you can see these on the graph/red line boost). we didnt have time to fix this whilst on the dyno becuase it was eating into our tune time. our turbo is efficient up to 1.4 bar...so i know with stable boost..we can exceed 200whp on this little bugger hehe.

yes, good tune is key mate..we have many TD04L set ups here running 1-1.3bar boost on stock motor..as long as you have a good ecu and tuner..its safe. consequently though, this particular car is going in for forge as we speak now because he it participating in an vent next month..so no room for errors.

i very much like the idea behind the turbo and the work/development that has been into making this "custom" unit. You seem to put a lot of effort in trying to make a solid unit with some degree of quality control. The power figures/gains sound very good with a decent tune. How long has the set up been running (mileage)?

if it proves to be a solid reliable unit, as is the standard with wepr racing products, then i'd say its a good investment for anyone looking to go the stock mod route---with the supporting mods obviously.

on a business note, i think you will face immense competition from the very cheap Chinese hybrids and possibly other more established/reliable turbo refurbishment places around which build ct9 hybrids (especially in the uk/usa)...the chinese ones are attractive due to their comparative cheapness and the local/Uk/USA hybrids due to the price and availability/proximity of the refurbishment companies to those seeking such services.

however, i still think there is a place for your hybrid for the user who wants a solid unique unit with the backing of dyno figures and the WEPR brand behind it...you seem to capture the ct9/ct9 hybrid/stock td04l/k24/tf035 territory with this one unit which is very good for the user looking to retain close to stock drive-ability and be in that power range....if the buyer already has a ct9 set up with supporting mods this unit becomes a potential option

will you be offering a warantee? Maybe you can see if there is interest in them with a group buy to try to reduce the unit costs??--making them more affordable to the average buyer...just throwing some ideas/thoughts out there for you to consider

all the best with the product...i've used WEPR racing products in the past and continue to use them at present---- sacha offers great before and after sales service
