    Ok i have removed the end cover and had a look at the 5th gear and it is in fact all engaging correctly, i can shift through 5 gears but how do i select reverse? Does anyone know the order of shifting a gearbox by hand without linkages attached if that makes sense

    In the end after tearing it down i found cylinder 3 had a spun rod bearing and the walls of cylinder 4 were badly warped. This may or may not help someone diagnosing in future just thought id mention it

    Also i assume the line boring would take away a minimum of a couple of thou, since i only can source cranks that need grinding at this point im not sure there are actually bearings available that would work with undersize crank and undersize caps, does anyone here run billet main caps?

    I did look at these option but i couldnt actually find them for sale and available anywhere, do you know were i could get some?. My understanding of it was that the main caps bolts allow the caps to lift at high power and this is what causes them to damage bearings and or crack the main caps...

    Thanks i was talking about main cap studs (the ones holding the crank to the block) not head studs , but ended up needing that info about headstuds anyway :)

    Met with the engineer and discussed this today, ended up ordering the 4age arp head studs (10mm instead of stock 9mm) and main cap studs

    Ive found arp main cap studs for my build part number is ar203-5403 These are listed on tuning developments as 4efte main studs Everywere else they are listed as 4age main studs, Can anyone confirm they are the same and will fit my 4efte before i place an order?

    Strange thing is, the fastest starlet i know of in australia is running 500hp on 40psi and NOS, he makes consistent 10.6's and after speaking with him, he did grind his crank and run 0.25 oversized bearings without issue and at such high power output

    Passender side does just but with very little clearance, drivers side moves freely but theres not even enough room to fit the brake pad clips. Im thinking ill have to have 2mm machined off of the face of both rotors, any reason why i shouldnt do this?
