Maxol are replacing their regular unleaded fuel within the next month or so with a new one called e5 which is 5%bioethanol and 95% petrol.

the good news for us car fans is the octane is proven to be 99.2ron which is great news. Its also the same price as norman unleaded. Schweeeeeet
Lads from isdc.ie emailed maxol and they confirmed the octane rating of it.

I doubt it. The problems with jap turbo cars missing is that the ecu can't retard the timing enough to suit the petrol and prevent detonation. As we know, this is the mixture igniting before the spark. However, a car set up for 95ron should have no problem automatically advancing the timing to suit 99ron.

you wont have to get your car remapped mate. even if your car is mapped for 95 ron adding 99 ron wont make a difference, you will actually get no gain as the ecu will use set the timing for 95.

a 1.3 will do 430miles anytime lad, just drive it easy, small engines like 1300cc are very economical...

well with mix driving i cant get more then 400km dude . yes the 1300cc engine is very economical not when you have turbo hanging with it .

The ecu can easily retards itself down to suit 95ron but you do loose alot of performance. On v-power with just an exhaust system i made 136bhp. You need to run through a couple of tanks to get the timing to advance tho.
