a question for someone who knows stuff about computers??

rite ive just bought some new internet security program(kaspersky) and it keeps telling me that i need to remove the old one(avg). ive gone into the remove programs and it doesnt seem to be poppong up on the list of programmes that are on the comp.its doin my head in as i cant see it there and it wont work until avg is gone of the pc..help please..

to remove avg you should just need to click start, then all programs, avg, then click uninstall avg.

Also why have you bought one when avg is perfectly fine and is free?

AVG should have its own unistall program.

I'm using the free one and if you go Start > All Programs > AVG Free 8.0 there is a 'Uninstall AVG' button.

Had exact same sito, after you uninstalled avg, kaspersky, still detects is there. You would need to delete any avg folders in the program files folder AND delete the registry key in system reg for avg.
to do this, click Start, run and type regedit. Then hunt for avg key file,
