i was just wondering if my adjustable boost is standard. its got a knob what you turn in the car, there are two red pipes coming from it on goes to the actuator and i don't know where the other one goes.

thats the nice term for it, its a bleed valve really...

i'd do what dac said and get it out, and don't use it at all either lol

why not use it at all. i never turn it up past 0.8 bar (11.52 psi) i assume this is ok as fuel cut is about 13psi

They arnt ideal but it would do until you can replace it.

It isnt going to cause any direct damage to your car.

i don't understand what the difference is between a bleed valve and a dawes device it seems to me that there doing the same thing.

When the turbo starts creating boost some boost pressure is sent through the compressor discharge nipple and into a pipe.

This boost pressure will then travel down the pipe until it gets to your boost controller.

The bleed valve will bleed some of this boost pressure off so the remaining air flows down the pipe and into your actuator, depending on how much air had been bled off is how much pressure will now be sensed by the actuator.

A dawes device instead of bleeding the air off, the air now has to overcome a spring which you set by turning the device. The spring pressure will be reached at a certain boost pressure and it will allow the boost pressure to travel down and onto the actuator.

Hope this helps
