Alright to still drive while waiting for re-test next week ? ? ?

Hi all,

My car failed N.C.T there last week few little thing's all fixed now but re-test ain't till next Friday. Is it alright to drive it once i have letter still in car ? Oh new booking ?

Yes as far as i'm aware as long as it's booked in and you can prove it then you can drive it.

You are ok to drive it but i suggest that you take a copy of the letter in your car with you incase you are stopped, its handier than having to go to the barracks to produce it

Is the law not the same in N.I. as it is in the UK? You can drive a car without an MOT, but only to a garage for a pre-booked MOT test (Or to a garage for a pre-booked appointment to fix items for an MOT).

You can't drive around on a failed MOT test unless the old ticket is still valid (Which makes no sense, but that's the law).

Ok think i'll be leaving it in the garden ? I have been out in mate's car's and been pulled with no Valid N.C.T just showed him letter of booking and waved us on ? But that different to re-test ? Letter ? ? ? ?
you are fine to drive it as long as u have the letter to show the pricks if they stop you.

Nope it's a different system over here lads, the way it works here is there government test centers, if it's booked out then it's not your fault as you have to use your local one and as such you cannot be left without a car, so if try and book your car in and the test isn't till next year say you can still drive it around even if it has not been tested as long as it's booked in for one. fucked up system i know.
