those results are very good for that boost ricky!! but if he says its losing power with more boost! then your turbo isnt as good as they say! or your tuner is playing it safe for sure!

lets say if it was your tuner playing it safe then at 1.6 bar your looking 300bhp dude.id go pick it up see wat they say! then at some stage go elsewhere and have it checked out and see wat they say..

its still gona be very quick man:)

yeah i'm pretty certain thats the case,

the guy who tuned it has never done starlets before, and has only tuned 1 apexi pfc before and that was on a skyline.

in his defence i was asking a lot of him considering he knows nothing about the ecu, and i asked him to fit the bigger injectors and replace the map sensor for a gm 3bar sensor.

any way, i'm looking forward to feel what it goes like

no matter what has been said the only solid evidence you have is a power figure at a given boost level.

and so far, those facts make perfect sense and are very respectable.

just wait and see what happens in the future, im sure the turbo will deliver @1.6bar similarly well as it delivered @1.2bar, what you need is a power fc specialist.

Ricky - go and pick it up and drive it. I am 110% sure your feelings will have changed, its going to feel like a beast.

I will push big power out of mine one day but I will be more concerned about power delivery than a power figure. You look at some cars out there with massive turbos that produce 1200bhp and take a week to spool.

Please update us on how she drives when you collect her.

ok guy's as it happens you were all correct,

the car is actually silly quick, and it just holds full boost till the redline and beyond, its so great it's really nice to drive also, i dont know why i was dissapointed,

the tuner hasnt given me any graphs, he doesnt like giving graphs out (he hates forums and the stay at home tuners you see)

he said he has also tuned it very safely, as it's running hardly any ignition, and he said that maybe he could have got more out of it but he had to keep turning his fan down (so the intercooller wasnt getting so much air) because the radiator was cooling the water down far to much.

he did say i would only realisticly only gain about another 10-20bhp at the most

so yes there is more in the setup, and i take back everything i said in this thread,

now i have realised i need a brake upgrade, as stopping it with uprated pads and discs doesnt really work well, so next on the list is a big brake kit.

Nice mate, thought it wouldnt dissapoint when you drove it.

& yes, i thought you would need better brakes when i last went in your car (not that it stopped bad or anything) just now youve got so much more power, they are a top priority.......... :beer:

i shit myself when i found the brakes werent working :p

it is unbelievably quick, its great it is just how i wanted the starlet to drive

i just need to find some big brakes that fit under my wheels

Very good results for this amount of boost. I believe you can source 20 more hp if the maping isnt suited to the car perfect. Does your flow map from this hybrid says that is unefficience over 1.2bar?:confused: cause it looks strange to earn only 5 hp from 0,4 increasment. Do you know what afrs you run at full boost and at what timing? (better double checked it on a different person).
Nah i can understant that you are not a hp hunter but if 20 more exist under the hood make them start running mate.;)

It's a good result dude! Having been in Dan's when his was 290hp odd I'm sure yours won't be no slouch!

Couple things though - he said it stopped making power at 1.2Bar+, but couldn't there be another culprit acting as a bottleneck? Such as your induction set-up or your intercooler core/pipes? Just a thought...

Also, why the hell is he refusing to give you graphs? I'd give him a slap. You've paid him god knows how much, a quick printout costs nothing. I think that's ridiculous - he may not like forums and such like, but it seems odd. Maybe hes scared to hand it out?? I really can't believe he refused...wow, speechless over here! lol

Well done Ricky, i cant wait now.
Been without my car since i blew the bottom end and pistins :(
I have been collecting parts for months now and i just hope its all worth it :D
