cars just finished tuning, pleased and dissapointed

i think the power is good:cool:....and remember, every dyno will probably read different

as ggti said...it more about the total curve than the peak power...your car drives between 0 - 7200rpm (or whatever your rev limit is now)......so 256bhp at XX rpm is not very important to how, when and for the length of time power comes in........its all about the area under the curve

so after readnig this tread....my only issue is actually the fact that u did not get a print out....i think u paid your $$$ and u deserve your print out, regardless of the discount u may have gotten in your price

yes, different tuners use different methods, which may cause a lot of discussion---trust me, i've seen some strange maps...but all the same once the engine is reliable :rockon:

enjoy the car....forget about the bhp/whp/hp thing...as a dyno is really just a tuning tool

Ricky if i were you i would enjoy the car as it is now with the safe map for some time and not go to any tuner where by trying to squeeze out more power to look better that your current tuner might fuck up your engine ! everyone here is saying you should map it better and its too safe and you should have got more bhp but if i were you i wouldnt touch it seeing the time and $$$$ spent on the car try to take something back so enjoy it as it is its no slowcoach so wtf if you didnt get 300bhp??? Go race it against a 300bhp car and you might surprise him as bhp is not everything ! so good luch with the car and well done thats a very nice figure from a 1.3ltr

what makes you yhink its been mapped safe and not mapped correctly? I dont understand how your missing th point that someone else got 240hp on a dastek ecu at only 1 bar.surely another 0.4 should do more then 18 hp or whatever the difference is that ricky got.

Personally i think it has not been mapped properly and/or maybe too too safe.

theres so many varibles tho long as it goes well on the road thats the main thing. My friend had his car on engine advantages dyno and it hit 255bhp but at surrey rr it only got 236bhp still an animal.

wow 250 ft/lb torque is amazing for 1.2 bar. i had 1.5bar td04l only making 230 torque. maybe thats where the hybrid paid off?! also i dont believe any of us can be judging the map without the afr chart and dyno sheet in fairness lads

What happened, who did do it in the end then?

steve was gonna do it, then he had to cancel, so i got a company called redline tuning to do it, it was and wasnt a good idea,


but it looks like i will be getting steve to re do it.
