caution when buying from Tuning Developments (Nick Jones)

Unfortunatly this isnt good feedback for Nick Jones, Iv just had one of my worst experiences whiles dealing with an internet trader!

This is what happened - I ordered an Emanage Ultimate from Nick Jones on the 14th of september and paid the £500 pound or so via paypal! I was informed that it would take 21 days but could be sooner.

On the 14th of october I contacted Nick as i still hadnt received the ECU or heard anything from him since i had sent over the money. I was then told
were still working hard to complete your order but as present were waiting on the EMU Main Units to come in
.
We're hoping to have them in the next week or so, Will find out more over the next day or so and let you know.
This annoyed me a little bit as he was quite happy to take my money but he didnt have the desency to contact me informing me of any delay or problems.
On the 21st of october i then contacted Nick again and was informed that he hadnt received the unit but was expecting it soon. I then received the unit tuesday just gone which was the 1st of december.

Now after being told that they usually take 21 days to arrive but could be sooner i wasnt expecting a wait of nearly 2 months, if i was told when paying for the unit that i could be waiting a couple of months i would have expected the delay which wouldnt have been a problem! Also to not have any comunication from nick unless it was me contacting him was also really annoying and not really on!

Anyway my rant over now!

And I'm going down this Friday for my Emanage ultimate to be fitted and mapped. Not good timing to be reading this.

I thought this had been sorted like :(

moved to sales feedback forum - please take care to post in the correct forum.

I am about to send a PM to Nick requesting that he explain this situation as it is not what we expect from our traders.

I would kindly request that people with no direct connection to this situation refrain from posting (that is not directed at notorious CAT just at the usual shit stirrers who love jumping in to threads like these)

Taking a while to post/source an item (not condoning it) does not mean that the quality of mapping/fitting you will receive will not be equal to all the possitive feedback Nick has received.

hey bro..
i know you are not happy with this..but sometimes things do take a while to come. it happens to us all the time where we pay suppliers and they seem to take their own time every now and then. nick's a good lad..i am sure he'll straighten this up and once mapped..you'll be all smiles

Think James main issue is the lack of communication unless he personally contacted Nick. Not really the fact of the delay.

That's what I gather going by the post.

Thats a shame Geeza, Nicks always been Uber sweet with me and comms have been A+ and better, maybe a small slip up or he may have been busy. I can understand your fustration especially with that sweet PP forged engine built up.

I hope it gets sorted and all parties involved come to some medium:)

i just gotta ask why it is a tgtt.com issue if u bought it off ebay?? u cant really put a rant in here if u bought something off ebay and not off him through his trader forums here..... maybe u should have taken it up with ebay ;)

Tuning Developments are a TGTT trader, jamesbaa is a TGTT member, the complaint was posted in the TGTT forum. I would think it's quite obvious why the TGTT staff would take an interest in this incident.

I would like to reiterate what Dylan has already said:

I would kindly request that people with no direct connection to this situation refrain from posting

ive just spoke with nick about getting something for my car and mentioned this thread to him - james do you mind PM'ing nick to discuss this, as he has asked me to say that he has offered you refunds at the beginning due to the delays in him recieveing the units from his supplier outside of the uk(as at the time of ordering no stock was in) and problems with getting units through customs, which you was made aware of.

It was bought from the TGTT.com site and i never once mentioned ebay!

Thats the main issue, I did eventually receive the parts but they were over a month late and there was no comunication from nick as to why there was a delay!

Surely a quick PM to inform me of a delay isnt asking to much!

Hi everyone,

Firstly i'd like to say sorry to James for the delay in getting his emanage kit to him, I didn't forsee it taking anywhere near as long as it did for the items to be received by us. Seems like if something could have delayed it, it did, which is very unfortunate.

We try our best to keep items in stock ready to ship but this isnt always possible, on this particular case it would appear that the shipment wasn't sent out to us as urgently as we had needed and was also held in customs for a very long time and we simply weren't able to get our hands on it.

I also apologise for the lack of updates letting you know what was going on, we did offer you a full refund with it taking so long but you decided to wait which is fair enough and your choice. However we should have done more to keep you 'in the loop' of where things were upto so sorry about that.

We try our best to keep an excellent customer service but also accept that sometimes this isn't the case for various reasons, some are genuinely out of our control and some are where we could do better.

CAT - We have your ECU at the workshop ready to go so dont panic fella.

Thanks

Nick @ Tuning Developments
