ok so, distributorless igniton means ull have a coil on each plug..

in a distributor ignition, ull have the igniter//coil feed the dizzy, then the dizzy distributes the single spark between the 4 hi tension leads.. which then go into the plugs..

the 4efte uses a distributor type igniton..

Right im not 100% sure but ill giv it a go!...

distributorless ignition uses 4 seperate coilpacks to generate ignition for example: If you look at the plug leads on an older car with a dizzy then there will be 4 thick leads going from the dizzy to the plugs..

However if you look at a newer cars plug leads they are just plain wires going to the coilpacks..

There will be a seperate coilpack for every cylinder located where the plug lead reaches the plug...

what engine is your starlet usin btw?...
