surley the del company has records of collecting the item or even a receipt you have of paying for the service?

if so its proof that it was sent and in the hands of the del company

the del company should have not have giving it to anyone other than the name on the address

i got a laptop online before and i wasnt there to sign for it he left it at my door in a box if anyone came up to the house and seen it id say it was gone for sure there are only interested in dumping off the stuff and getting home early

so if you have proof that you sent it and they have a signature of it being delivered then j25gti has a issue with the del company and not turbojim

it is not j25s job to be chasing the courier company, he is the buyer and has not recieved the item in question.

@ turbojim you need to put in a complaint with dpd and find out exactly where the parcel is and why it was given to someone else.

for example say you buy an item off ebay and it does not get delivered you would contact the seller to find out where it is.you know full well you would not be fobbed off with "you have to take it up with the delivery company it n o longer my problem" so why should it be any different on here.

sort it out:teach:

Well as it stands now,

Jim has written proof that the item was delivered to the address and has a proof of delivery.

In this case I don't think Jim should just hand out a refund when he has a reciept that the item was despatched to your address and also proof that it was delivered to your address.

Other than talking to the driver (who most likely won't remember delivering it as he probably delvers hundreds of parcels in the same area every day) I don't see what can be done.

With regards to taking the matter further nothing can be done, as even if the item was insured, as DPD have a proof of delivery you can't claim for a lost item if they have proof it was delivered.

I'm not calling you a liar J25 but as it is now Jim has proof and you don't whether you are in the right or not.

Nope, you see, it is still jims problem, as I do not have the contract with the delivery company, but him.

The proof does not state that it was delivered to me, as its not my name in the signature box.

I have been in contact with the delivery company, and it took them all of five minutes to agree there is a problem, and they are opening an investigation, and that it is up for jim to refund me, and they will reimburse him after they have investigated.

Sacodetoro, you seem to be confusing proof of delivery with the fact its not my signature on the sheet. It is a proof of delivery, but that doesn't prove it was delivered to me. As any delivery driver knows it must be the right person who signs for it.

So what has taken two months, I have got further in a ten minute phone call.

if the del company has a signature for the item he got it from somewhere and are pretty spot on with addresses

if all the paperwork for turbojim is spot on then you must have a dispute with the del company asked them why they gave a package to a name that wasnt on the address

another thing is aswell now correct me if i am wrong but dont all packages being courier del have a phone number in case they cant find the address ect so that means you would of had a phone call to say it was coming ect

and like you said you work from 7-7 so you wouldnt be there anyway to collect it so you would need someone there to sign for it so then you would have someone in your house

in one of your replys you said you live by yourself and no one would be in the house it doesnt add up

barnaby jones eat your heart out!:haha:

Well if they can now get signatures from empty houses then they obviously have talent! He asked me for my phone number, but I never got any phone calls.

I live by myself, and work from 7 til 7, so I was waiting for the missed delivery, and was going to collect it. I wouldn't have anyone in my house to wait for it. I collect them on the way home to work or weekends. I have never had any problems before. The paperwork from turbojim is not spot on, as it is obviously not my signature, or anyone even closley related to me. It is a joke that you lot are actually defending this.

The company have already admitted there is a problem. And are carrying out an investigation.

Pig666eon your last half of the post makes no sense. I'd leave the detective work to barnaby ;)

Me and turbojim are in contact with the company now and they are investiagting it, so we shall see what happens. Its just a shame it has taken this long... And as I said in the pm, I don't want anyone ending up out of pocket from this. As I understand its not all his fault etc, but I just wish this was dealth with sooner.

But hopefully we are on the right track now

Well I'm glad that DPD aren't just pulling the shutters down and it seems from their initial reaction you should get somewhere with them.

I stand by my post though, I have had at least a dozen people try to claim they never recieved an item when they actually did (this was via ebay where I used to sell a lot) in the end I prevailed with all of them as I was always happy to give refunds when they were genuine claims.

I'm glad you have done what i suggested and got in contact with DPD as it seems this may have a positive outcome.

As I have said, I have no opinion who is in the right or wrong I'm just stating the facts as I see them with the information I have at the time. I just hope it gets sorted, and it seems after 2 months of getting nowhere, 2days from me and your on your way to getting sorted :haha::haha: oj

ha i was just trying to lighten the mood abit sorry ha

look at the end of the day your out by not having the item and paid the money but also turbo jim has sent the item and has all the paperwork so best thing is not to be blaming turbojim for the misfortune of the del company and work together to resolve the matter

it did take a good while to get where you are now but i would say your on the right track to sorting this out

maybe we should not be so hastily calling turbojim a untrusted seller as if he has genuinely sent the item its unfair to be slandered

I understand where you are coming from, it was just the fact there was no other way of getting this resolved, after two months I had really lost it and didn't see any other way of doing this.

Obviously this could have been avoided, but at least we are on the right track now!
