Hi All,

Just putting plans in place to get my full toms kit installed on my GT . I want to run a FMIC but the car as OEM aircon which I want to keep in place.

I'm going to stay CT9 but can I install a FMIC with aircon in place?

Thanks

more room for more hp with it removed bud, i was going to re-install it but the radiator was huge and probably not suit the tf035 kit. I suppose depending on size of the fmic you go for you could keep it ?
throw some pics up sure :)

I'm not actually after more power its more for looks :p. I've other cars for that :)

I know there's a short route pipe and longer route but wanted to make sure either would fit with the air con setup

You can retain the aircon just fine, the blitz fmic was designed to avoid it in fact. Not really a huge concern so long as you are smart with the piping.

hi mate,
our FMIC kits allow for your to keep A/C. our kits are a little expensive since we use Garrett cores. but they are the best on the market. WEPR fmic kits retail for $985/£754 shipped. here's our kit fitted...

i was going to recommend dropping wepr/sacha a line....as from your display picture you have an ep71?? and may need something a bit custom for that car if that is indeed the car in question

i run a Trust Greddy fmic kit for the EP91 glanza which retains ac and stock bumper, but again its expensive and not made for the ep71 model

Trying to keep the EP71 standard , have a EP82 locked away that I want to kit and bolt up a FMIC too. :)

Appreciate the comments, I will have to save up a few pound for the FMIC as I want it to fit/look right at first fitment.

Thanks

that's when the fun starts lol, my core is a monster tho, J-Performance 8" tall 4" deep 30" wide. I've just about managed to get the bottom of the core level with the bottom of the crossmember too
that kit currently lying in the shed

The early WEPR cores were always a good size for fitting in, especially compared to the thicker Blitz (and it's cheap copies from Autobahn88 and the like). Not sure if Sacha has changed the dimensions any over the years but he can advise directly.

Fitted a HKS core on my own last year and it's about the smallest I've dealt with. Real easy to handle although looks wise it's a bit lost with my TOMS bumper. I modified WEPR piping to fit it as the JDM pipes weren't pretty enough. I'll find some pics if I can.

Skinny - That looked like a nice bit of fun to get that kit installed!

Thanks Jay if you could that'd be great, on a side note you hardly have a EP82 GI bonnet for sale?:)

the fun part was trying to stop the leaks on the intake side bud  i have the HDI short route hot side but used a combination of an EP?? Intake section onto some cheap Chinese sections, ended up using joiners 2mm smaller than the pipe diameter

Unfortunately not John, I remember the days they were £150 brand new but sadly they are discontinued.

Toyota's marketing plan is up the left. By the time we need body panels they have been removed from the market. Sill panels are a good example.

There is a fortune to be made if they would think about things a little!

Completely agree with you, if you were in the business it might be a good money maker for different Jap cars, especially AE86s and the likes.

I know a place in the US is making Gen 5 Celica panels including the widebody CS/RC cars, must have a wee trawl on the forum later see can I get the name.
I know a place does heated front screens too will find that name too :)

That's good to know Sacha, I can remember a few people regarded the old core as too slender but I always found it really suited a fast spooling set up.

Just for reference, what's the new cores dimensions?

the new fmic's are 28x7x3" for ct9/td04 (cools 500hp) applications and 29x10x3" inches for larger turbo applications (cools 600hp)...these are total dimensions. we now use Garrett cores on all our FMIC/TMIC set up's. they are superbly efficient and offer less than 1psi press drop mate. zero increase in lag really...at least nothing that will register on dyno (or butt dyno hehe). we have different core sizes available for more extreme set up's too. FMIC's are available in either regular or rear-entry too.18882075_10154830340087809_1891312669111872821_n.jpg 19510129_1456609527718370_331155088842212205_n.jpg 41650104_1837615466346001_3702538357801222144_n.jpg
