take no notice of what the initial tool says to you, demand to speak with a manager they will put one on then get your insurance.. managers have to respect the customer where some 16 year old lad saying computer says no does it to get a reaction as its the only exciting part of the job saying no to people.

allrite lads! cheers for all yur input. Heres wat happened nxt (sry for takin so long to get bac to ye!):

Tues morning rang quinn threatening legal action was told I would be rung back within the hour. In the mean time I went to activate the other quote i had received (frm hibernian 1652 euro). Iexplained wat happened wi quinn, an they were like "Thats a disgrace etc etc", so the extrmely nice lady on the phone explained my situation to the manager who phoned me back and said "even though you havnt got yur 3 years no claims yet were gona apply it, how does 1290 euro sound?". Needless to say i was delighted! I have to say i am very impressed with hibernians service throughout the time i was dealing with them. They acted like they really wanted me as a customer which felt nice! I think also the manager couldent resist gettin one over on their rivals (ie quinn!).

Back to quinn! Rang me back offering to cover the difference to my next biggest quote. I was very tempted to tell em it was 1652 an pocket the 300 euro but im not that kinda person. So i told them that i had gone elsewhere an got a much better quote. I am one happy boy now i must say!

And as for my starlet all i can say is she is an absolute joy to drive!:)

thats a load of kanye.im 18 with quinn on my glanza.0yrs no claims.6 months driving experience.3 grand

It's amazing how much you guys are willing to spend on insurance.

I would have never paid that much especially if the car is worth just as much.

Glad it got sorted!

As a last resort, if you have comprehensive insurance on any car, you should have 3rd party on any car you drive. So you could just get some rusty POS micra or summat, get comprehensive on that and be able to drive a starbo legally. it just means if you do get blamed for an accident you won't get anything towards the starbo.

itll have to be registered in somebody elses name and what happens if it got stolen?

i know it'd be an easy option to get on the road but it'd be risky also ;)

Well aye, and if you write it off you're broke. like I say, only really a last resort if you can't get insured on the car of your dreams and you can't bear to be without it...
