just said id put up this as i was put in my place a few weeks back by saying the c52 gearbox takes 2.5litres to fill while alot said 1.9litres... im not here to prove a point or anything but i just want to know why my gearbox takes 2.5litres... i went off today and got 2 bottles of gearbox oil (1litre bottles) thinking maybe i made a mistake the last time i filled it and low and behold, 1,9litres wasnt enough.. luckily i had some left in the old bottle and again my gearbox took 2.5litres.. car was level and all that and the minute the last drop was poured in it started to dribble out the level hole... can anyone explain why this is so cause im beat.. my gearbox is stock and has no lsd..

cheers

Right this is according to my book -)

Recommended API GL-4
SAE 75W-90

Models before 1996
C140,C141,C150,C153 - 2.4L
C52 - 2.6L

Models after 1996
C140, C150, C153 - 1.9L
C56 (WITH LSD) - 2.2L
C56 (Without LSD) - 1.9L
C50F - 2.2L

So according to this everything is OK. It should be 2.6L.
