Cheers lads, the cover was back on soon as I'd dunged out the boot of goodies. Forgotten what was hidden away in there!

This hasn't been restored, just been lying about waiting on time to get near it. I think she has been outside maybe a dozen times in the last decade. Scary!

The wheels are typical Jap, inspired by another manufacturer. I always classed them as a replica of the Ford and Volkswagen wheels used during the 80's. It's strange that everyone calls them mk1 wheels when they were actually optional on mk1's, mk2's & mk3's!

Sounds like mine isn't the only heartbreaker lol.

I had to have rust removed from behind the headcloth. Have stashed a spare sunroof and spare parts in case it gives any jip in the future.

where was this rust exactly? i havnt pulled anything apart and i cant see any evidence of rust, but would rather be aware if its a possible point of corrosion.

Along the rear edge of the sunroof, as if the bonder had let moisture past. I had the bodyshop sort it whilst it was stripped.

The mk2 I broke had the same thing happening around it's roof. It's only light surface rust but still, better to catch it early.

Would you sell the spare one yot have jay id pay strong money for one complete with everything ready to fit .. No matter what you guys say it wont change my mind i badly want one .. You wont need it jay yours is just gathering dust haha please sell pleeeease

If you want one that bad just buy a car with one already fitted.

I think I open mine about once or twice a year when it gets a bit hot. I can never see why anyone would specify one for their car myself, but each to their own!

Iv been lookin for a mk1 Starlet with a sunroof nd couldnt find one so il stick with what i have .. Id just love one think there handy letthn light in from the top and just havin one is cool .. Always wanted a sunroof starlet so il do it before i go gettin it sprayed
