GT Not Starting

Hi guys,

Hopefully a few of you old wise heads can share an insight into my slight problem.

Getting the GT back up and on the road but for some reason it won't start.

Battery charged, connected. Ignition on, everything works as it should. Go to start and it cuts off not even cranking over, there is the click, like a dead battery then nothing.

No power after that. I take off the negative battery terminal and reconnect. Turn the ignition on and everything works. Go to start and the same thing happens.

No fuses out and a freshly charged battery but something cuts the power and to reset you have to take the battery terminal off.

Any suggestions what to look at?

If the battery is not toast it could be the starter solenoid or it sticking, try a hood old tap with something or rock it back and forward in 1st gear

Does sound a bit like you have it on a dead spot on the starter motor. Try the above and report back. If it isn't that, it is likely a duff battery

I think this might have just been corrosion on the terminals.

Gave it a rock anyway, wire brushed the terminals, fires up like a dream

Time to get this sleeping beast woke up.
