They are useless but at the same time by far the best quotes for me on turbo charged or imported cars.

i got a quote off of admiral the day befor ei went to pick my V up, rang them 4pm the next day whence i had picke it up and sorted out the paperwork etc, and they told me they couldnt insure it. but i was 250miles away from home, my lift had left previously, and i was stranded with no way of getting home and no insurance.

even though i had a quote the day before!

had to insure the V as a gt turbo just to get me home and then rang sky the next day they insured me no problems and have beenw ith them ever since!

My insurance was due to run out on the 10th September so I phoned my insurance company (Admiral) up to renew it and give payment details. Since then I have been driving around like normal.

Last Friday, I noticed that they had not taken payment so checked my car on the Motor Insurance Database - it was not insured! So I had been driving around for 2 weeks uninsured!?

So I phoned Admiral back up, had a long argument about why my car is not insured, and made them insure my car with immediate effect.

The thing that bothers me though is if I'd been pulled over, I would have got 6-8 points, and had my car impounded at great cost - all because Admiral are useless gits who don't know what they're doing (I have been having a lot of problems with them recently about my car being rammed 3 months ago that they have done absolutely nothing about so far!!!!!). They would have denied all responsibility and I'd have been up shit creek!!!

According to the law, it is MY responsibility to make sure I'm insured... what am I supposed to do? Say to admiral "Am I insured??? Are you sure? Sorry I don't believe you - can you fax me the insurance certificate, full documentation that you are authorised to insure vehicles, along with the managing director's birth certificate and bank records for the last 5 years...." ???????????

Is there anything I can do about this? I could have been completely screwed over if they police had run any sort of check on my car!!! And for all I know, I could still receive something through the post in the next few weeks if my car has been seen on any ANPR cameras!

Have had numerous problems with admiral!! asked for a certificate to be emailed to me so i could tax a temporary car on my policy... the certificate turned up 4 days later through the post =/ not only that, it was dated something like 2009 and for a completely different car. asked for a certificate another time and when it came through it said 3nthony instead of Anthony. Now for the most important f*ck up! My renewal came up last year...phoned up and renewed it, a few days later received a letter saying "were sorry you've not decided to renew your policy with us this year".... i was like WTF... turned out I had also been driving round uninsured because of another f*ck up by ADMIRAL. I'm paying them £1000's! and for what?...for them to make f*ck ups like this. When I phoned up fuming and asked what would happen if I had been arrested and my car impounded...all she said was..."we would have covered you".... Oh and while I'm on the ball... had an accident with another vehicle.. had to do the conference calls with the dvla and all that... 3 fuckin times! Phoned ADMIRAL one day to extend cover on a temp car... was told it would be an extra £40odd no problems....and theirs an outstanding premium of nearly £900..... they tried claiming I had not listed 3 points earlier in the year.... got it wiped off in the end....

Admiral are proper tw@ts to say the least, a few years back they were happier to take a £40 'administration' fee from me rather than my long term £££££ business with them, WHY?
