hi, i was just wondering what the lotus elan se are like? i know there 1.6 turbo pretty nippy but probably not as fast as my glanza.

reason i ask i am considering abandoning project glanza and buying one of these when my insurance needs renewing which is another 5 months yet but if i am getting one i dont want to spend any more on the glanza - you can pic a decent one up for abour 5k if you look around, being 20 and owning a lotus lol id be loving that.

also plenty of tuning potential with it being a turbo?

Only FWD Lotus if I recall - great handling car, but as with the Pre-Elise era of Lotus's you can expect it to be very unreliable...as for tunability, I'm unsure - it uses an Isuzu engine (Perhaps out of the Piazza?)

It was a dark grey to black he overtook me and I was in the middle of nowhere, didnt have a clue where I was going, didnt have much fuel and I didnt know for a shell garage but, I thought bollox he cant get away with that so I sped up to the national speed limit (limiter in 4th) and went blasting past him as he was trying to get away.

Yeah I brought it up the place is locked down after 9pm so nobody can come in and with security on the gates so I brought it.

I am up there loads over the next year so I will come and have a look around your car one time.

To go back on topic, I like the look of the elan tbh and from what I have heard Isuzu engines are very good (I know the diesel ones are), there has to be aftermarket parts available too and if they arnt, all you need is a custom exhaust with decat, increased boost, air filter and your away I bet an e-manage would work on it too. It seems a tad heavy though at 1000 odd kgs for a small car!

i think that looks better then a glanza....

Dont get me wrong there are glanzas that appeal to me more then that... but standard looking form that beats it anyday in my opinion.....

I heard good things about Isuzu engines but i didnt know they did petrol!! will depend on reliability and aftermarket parts i think, ill look around :)
