main shaft pully or gearbox or clutch

right lads ,having a big problem and need to figure out wether it is gearbox or clutch, had clutch replaced two months ago,and about a month ago got a tapping noise from the gearbox, were the slave clyinder joins the gearbox, since then the main pully that drives the power streeing pump and the altentor has began to wobble slighty and making a noise ,if i engage cltuch the noise will go on both the pulley and the gearbox, just wondering do you think the clutch was put in wrong or does the gearbox need reconditioning

Is it the "piston arm" that comes out of the slave clyinder as it meets the gearbox fork? Just rattles, but with a little push on the clutch pedal the noise stops.
Main pulley wobbling?! That don't sound too good fella. Best take that to a garage that you trust and let them have a look.

i have a mechanic that fixes my car,but he will need to remove gearbox,i want to find out wether it is the clutch or the gearbox,im fairly sure it is the gearbox, the tapping nosie comes from the point were the slave clyinder meets the gearbox,it is like a triangler rubber boot,is there any way it could be the clucth or do you think it is the gear box,as said it is causing the main shaft pully to wobble slighty, which i think is caused by the gearbox

That sounds like the thrust bearing relase fork (someone else will know the really name of this part). I'm not sure how they "fixed" it on mine. It just vibrates and is annouying as fook!
Wish i could help more fella.

same as myself ,my mechanic will be able to tell me ,but if it is not the clutch ,ill have to pay him for the work and am fairly broke at the moment,so want to try and get more information ,to determine wether it is clutch or gearbox, but im fairly sure its the gearbox, but it only happened not long after the new clutch was fitted,so i am unsure, any one else got any thoughts

if it is the gearbox and i get a 98 glanza gearbox, would the gear restriction in 1st and 2nd affect my gts performance

if the crankshaft pulley is wobbling then i would be seriosuly worried. maybe a thrust bearing plate has gone!?

without getting the box off to take a look its hard to say really mate, may not be half as bad as it seems!

its the labour thats going to be expensive ,is the plate your talking about ,in the gear box and can it be fixed by a mechanic,as said when cltuch is engaged the wobble is gone, and what do you think of using a glanza gearbox ,i can get one for 200 euro or get it my own one reconditioned for 300 euro, just one more note, there is no problem changing gears and feels perfect there, just the tapping noise from gearbox and the slight wobble from the crank pulley

the bearing plate things im on about are in the bottom end of the engine. not sure how to remove or refit or anything mate. how bad is the crankshaft wobble?

the wobble is very slight, but there is a noise that is wrecking the head, there is also a tapping noise form were the slave clyinder joins the gear box,i had a mechanic look at it and he thinks it is the gearbox,he said this could cause the crank pulley to wobble slighty ,he said he would need to remove to know for sure

if its slight then yes it could well be the gearbox or clutch. basically you need to get the box off either way. if its bad enough to be moving the crank pulley then i would not drive it as it could cause you more problems!

no because its a boost restriction not a gearbox man,i can get you a gearbox out of a 1997 levin which will fit if it is the box giving trouble
