MK1 GT Lazy RPM Meter.

Hey all, new to the forum.

Just finishing up a GT project I've been working on building over the last year and I've now come to running and driving the car. But I'm noticing the RPM meter is a bit lazy. On idle, the tacho is reading between 200-400 RPM which is not at all accurate as it sounds like its currently idling around the 1500 RPM mark.

When taking the car for a light drive to ensure everything else worked properly, I found the RPM guage to not move much but it did climb slowly off the 400 or so RPM it normally reads. I need to resolve this as soon as possible so I can adjust the engine timing which I believe standard to be advanced +10 degrees at 800rpm. If this is incorrect for stock GT timing a correction to this information would also be appreciated.

Any help or advice on fixing a lazy RPM meter would be greatly appreciated.

Swap the rpm unit over, they are getting quite hard to find now tho.
1st Call ask Jay here :)
I've sent him a message and will see if I can get one. If not hoping to find a possible fix to save the one i already have.
