I got a ticket last night in Glasgow Fort, from a private company not council related.

Anyways been having a read around and this make an interesting read:

don’t ever think of private parking tickets as "fines". They’re not. These companies have no official right to fine you, though they may try and make you think it. All they’re doing is sending you a notice for what they deem as a breach of contract.

some good knowledge to have when faced with a ticket especially when its from a private company, it even gives you template letters to use!

I used one of the templates on the site and stated that i had a disabled passenger with me.

there reply was just that they have taken into consideration my point and accepted that the ticket was issued "unlawfully"

I got one in a private car park in Doncaster.

I sent them a letter stating clearly that I refused the invoice which they had stuck on my car, and that if I didnt receive communication within 48 hours, that I would take it that the ticket had been made void.

This was 6 months ago, and I've heard nothing. :)
