I wouldnt say they are permitted to give chase in their own private car though

must b different in ireland cause they do it here... the local gard up in my village uses his car for duty.. no lights or anything.. just think its very odd for police 2 b calling 2 the door at that hour sayin weir goin taking ur car..

yes your totally right, if the weather conditions were really bad then it would be a stupid thing to do, on snow/ice. But if he has been honest in what he did wrong i would believe him when he says it was dry, cause in my area some parts are very deep in snow but others are totally clear and dry with no snow in sight. Anyway, how many people out there would drive or could even get there car above 100mph in snow/ice???????????????

has been nought snow about my parts for a few days now, even the past week the main roads have been grand.

we've all been in license losing situations at our own discretion, im sure we are just as guilty in the eyes of the law snow or not. that being said hopefully the police dont follow this lead up and you take a lesson from the thought that your car/license can be taken away and take things abit easier.

Im from Ireland dude and I seriously doubt a copper is going to give chase in their own car at 100+mph...

As for calling to someones house at that hour. The copper probably witnessed it at a late hour and when he went on duty drove around to the persons house. For all they knew the car could have been stolen and they were going to the house to check with the registered owner.

exactly phil, i would say the majority of people on here have been in a situation where they get the guilters after big time and really think about their attitude on the roads. I really have and this year out driving a diesel has given me a different perspective. We have all been there, so should support instead of slate.

The road was pretty dry, and had been well gritted the last few days, with no snow fall in about 3days? In my eyes the road was 98% safe to do that speed, And if it was at all icey, would no way of done the speed!

I was expecting abit of stick for it, but you guys look out your window and see thick snow and think what a wanker for doing 100+, But most of you are 50-60 miles away at the least, and most of you 300+

But 100mph is silly on a summers evening, but yeah we all make mistakes, And i may get whats coming to me, But you all hoping i get whats coming to me, and you hope i get done aint really helping!

Cheers sam

Last thing you want is someone on here pointing the cops to this thread then you are surely done... Ill go back and edit my posts. This can be used as evidence. They have prosecuted people on the net before... I even had a freind lose her job on facebook when the boss read that she called him a tosser and wanker on the net. Becareful what you say on here.
