Reverse Lights not working

Ok people my reverse lights stopped working a few days ago, i'm pretty good at electrics usually but this one has me stumped, I'm getting voltage at the light plugs but as soon as i plug in a bulb no voltage,

i'm getting 11volts ( with ignition on and car not started )
the bulbs are working

so the only thing i can think of is there isn't enough Current,

Anyone have any idea, Every other electrical component in the car works fine ( except for the Cig Lighter but they are on a separate circuit i think )

So here are my questions,

I thought the switch for sensing it was in reverse was in the leaver housing it's self butt it's not, Is it the terminal on the top of the gear box?

Do they ever go?

anyone have a spare?

P.S. Checked every single fuse in the car so it's not them

Its more than likley the connection at the gearbox happend me I didnt know I had none until I nearly mashed a few people.

test the continuity of the switch on top the gear box.
with it in reverse you should have power across the terminals .
with it not in reverse = no power.

but i think its not that as your getting power to the rear circuit!

i got the part no. for it - or you can take my old one for a few beer tokens!
i swapped this as i thought mine was nakered - turns out the wire to the rear lights had broken in the rubber sleve between the car and boot.

just a warning tho - if your swapping that switch you need to buy a deep socket - think it was 30-32mm

Have you checked the connectors behind the rear panel in the boot? One of my lights kept going off and it was just a loose connector. i think they twist.
