Should my EP71 have an o2 sensor???

I've got an EP71 with the stock 2e-telu motor.

Its having issues with idling high and pinging under boost. At first, i thought it was the coolant temp sensor. Did a sweep test on it and its fine.
Next i tested what i thought was the o2 sensor... but it turns out (pretty sure) to be a pyrometer/ exhaust gas temp sensor.

Its located approx. 6inches down the dump pipe.

I cant see any other sensor in that region that could be an o2 sensor.

I tested the EGT sensor and it has a faulty plug. Testing from the wires coming out of the plug and it tests fine.

The previous owner has removed the catalytic converter and made a custom dump pipe, so im not sure if there should have been an o2 sensor that they might have left out or my model doesnt come with one.

Any ideas? This model seems to be pretty rare and lacks good info on the net

Typically when a car is equipped with a catalytic converter, it will also have an O2 sensor. The EPC does list an O2 sensor for the 2E-TELU powered EP71.
