I like this comment, people should be judged individually as a whole person not just because of there faith. I know acclaimed christians that are in my eyes bad people! and know people that dont follow any faith that are good as gold.
All terrostist/extremists should be jailed.

if u look in the bible pig is not permitted to chritians as well....
yes the animal noramaly a cow/lamb/chicken has its throat is slit and a prayer is said at the same time
the reason this is done is to purify the meat and release any harmful products/defects the animal may have (through the blood)

I have read the entire thread, some interesting (and well controlled) discussion going on.
I am a Christian, I would prefer not to identify with any particular subsect or minority. Over the course of my life I've carefully considered the facts, historic and current and based on my experiences and logical reasoning have decided that Christianity is the answer for me. I don't hate anybody for their beliefs, nor judge for their personal preferences. I'll happily discuss (and defend) what I believe, without discussion and examination of what I believe I don't think those beliefs are worth much.
Few comments I have:
Main beef I have with Muslims is that they don't integrate. I live in a quiet suburb in Auckland, New Zealand. As a nation we're incredibly multicultural, you won't find a more varied racial melting pot anywhere on earth. To an extent immigrants understandably tend to 'clump' together in communities but you still get interaction and mingling between lots of different cultures. Muslims in my personal experience and it seems in many other places (Europe included) do not integrate into the cultures around them, they remain distinct. I've had situations where my neighbors WILL NOT TALK TO ME because I'm not a Muslim.
In a similar vein of thought, Muslims are often the first for call for tolerance and openness towards Islam but also the first to judge others for their beliefs. I have been assaulted viciously for questioning a workmate around what he believes, purely in the interest of understanding the differences between us. He understood my questions to be denouncing his faith and rather than discuss or explain WHY he believes what he believes he took those questions as an insult to his faith and attacked. Muslim is overtly advertised as a religion of Peace, yet have been seen in recent times in many countries to be the first to revert to radical action or violence.
The theory of evolution is a THEORY. It is not proven. Whilst I don't believe the theory is correct, elements are certainly true. Who's to say the creation stories told in the bible didn't in part come about due to the god designed machinations of evolution? Science and religion do not have to be mutually exclusive.

Why is there no sex before marriage? I'm sure this was not around when Adam and Eve were created, so did they marry themselves?
Also, in some religions why do you have to shave such things as your arm pit hair? If God did not want you to have arm pit hair then he would not give it you.
Or are such things there in order to show your faith, as it is something you alls need to take time out and will always do?

Sex before marriage.. plenty to discuss around this. It's one I personally adhere to because I sincerely believe it is the right thing to do. Morally and logically, you're likely to have less problems if you don't sleep around. If this was still widely practiced we wouldn't have STD's and the like, a single life partner solves plenty of social problems. That said I don't judge those who don't follow the same train of though as myself.
Couldn't tell you anything specific about shaving hair. Religions can often end up with some strange traditions, these often have meaning (such as communion or baptism) but aren't necessarily core to the belief.

I have been with my partner for 7 years and she is obviously my only sexual partner and the same for her.

Anyway, I personally believe in being good to other people, you reap what you sow etc. I was raised a Christian but don't believe a word of it, god etc, but everyone is entitled to believe what they want which is cool by me.

I live by own code of conduct, and I sometimes find that people with religion can be narrow minded, for example, because you don't believe in god etc the they think you are mental, will go to hell, disgraced, etc.
I believe in life on this planet, now the present, living each day. I have had too much bad shit happen, people in crashes, lots of dead relatives etc to care much about after, its lights out then. We are just an organic machine after all, made up of fleshy parts.
My life is about my girlfriend, family, friends, dogs etc, they are my foundation (and if they werent there I can count on me).
As for god protecting people, I think mankind is the most kindest and cruelist race on the earth, if there was a god looking after everyone he must be visiting relatives in another solar system, just look at the shit that happens, rape, knifing cunts, people getting tortured (I mean proper torture), people with heads getting cut off, genocide, you can go on and on.
Personally I think you make your own luck, think positive, enjoy life, don't take it too seriously and enjoy a beer :beer:

I think religion can sometimes restrict people from enjoying their life to the fullest. But I respect other peoples views and faiths.

I met a hindu girl the other night, she seemed to be pretty relaxed about her religion. They apparently dont mind drinking at all but they wont eat meat because cows are considered a sacred animal.
Shes going out with my mate who is an anthiest(spelling) and they get on really really well.

He held all the different religious group together, only when he left did all the religious groups get a chance to blow the shit out of each other!

Just look at the Catholic church example where condoms are condemmed for being proposed to be given to the African countries because of moral rules etc.
Realistically these people are caught in the worst situation where they are scared to think with their own minds, and end up getting hiv, aids etc, that sucks.
