Speedvision TD04l kit - DO NOT BUY

SAM: IF YOU READ THIS, REPLY TO THIS POST AND EXPLAIN THE APALLING STATE OF THIS KIT!

I recently bought a speedvision td04l kit and fitted it a couple of weekends ago.

After managing to get all the stock parts (exhaust manifold, turbo, cat, radiator) off and putting the new manifold on, we encountered a large number of problems:

1. Gaskets were cut wrongly and the holes were offset
2. Turbo is SPRAYPAINTED silver to make it look reconditioned, and still has some oil from the impreza it came from! And spraypaint on the fins so that they catch on the housing is not good!
3. Oil drain leaks oil
4. Water pipes don't fit correctly
5. Downpipe flange is at completely wrong angle & 180 degrees off rotationally.
6. Downpipe flange is TOO BIG!

I had to have 12 hours work done and fork out £240 to get this fixed! And after all that, we still had no idea whether the turbo would smoke or not! Luckily it didnt smoke after it had been running for a few minutes!

I recommend that anybody avoids these kits, whether speedvision sells them again in the future, or you see one second hand, unless you are willing to have all these problems fixed! I know that I'll avoid any speedvision parts in the future!

dont know about the rest of the issues you had mate but Sam does state that the turbo needs to be rotated and even has a guide on how to do it posted in his for sale thread if I recall correctly

thats correct... sam clearly does state that u need to do some minor mods to fit his td04L kit..

sdutton007 - I can appreciate that you're not happy, but you really should have tried to get this sorted via Sam via PM as opposed to posting it here. Yes, I can understand that you're trying to make potential purchasers aware of problems with the product, but this kind of thread can kill someone's business, and I think a little more decorum and time should have been given.

All that's happening now, is people jumping on to this thread and further fuelling the fire, even if it really has nothing to do with them. Accordingly, I'm going close this thread as I don't see that further comments can help the situation, and delete the replies.

Sam will undoubtedly read this, so communicate via PM. If you need any help, then give myself or a Mod a PM and we'll try and help where possible.
