hi , im looking at getting a glanza or starlet in a few months, but first iv been makin sure i can get a decent insurance price!

il be 20 with 1 years nc and 1 years named driver nc,

but most of the cars number plates iv been typing in are coming up as coralla's or similar!

so does this mean its been registered as that in the uk when imported?

because i doubt you can insure it as that when it clearly isnt that car???

would just like some help around how this all works! :)

any help will be appreciated, thanks james.

nope thats not what they have been imported as , so dont worry , what you will have to do is manually enter in all the details

so like toyota , the year (1994 example) , manual , 3 doors , petrol then eventually it will say toyota starlet GT turbo 1331cc import :)

one of mine was classed as a toyota coupe and thats it. they fucked up my name on the logbook when i bought the car so i changed the details when i sent it back to be changed. hasnt been a problem though

Im 21 with 2 yrs NCB i pay 1200 with all mods declared and i actually had to specify the correct model. As its an import its never on any insurance database.

However my Logbook says this

Hey, im looking at buying a starlet GT Turbo within the next few days.. on the Logbook it says, Starlet, no mention of turbo or import. ive got a decent quote for insuring it as a starlet GT Turbo, Import, and with the mods on it too, so im not doing anything illegal am i? with having the insurance legal, but the log book still says starlet? no mention of turbo or import?

Thanks,
Daryn.

its fine mate. insure it as the car it is and you will be fine. as that pic above. alot of them just say that.

you can send the logbook away to be changed if you wanted.

yes mate. similar question was asked recently and a lad who works for sky insurance confirmed this. as long as its insured as what it is, then its fine

Excellent, cheers.
Do u reckon ive got a good enough quote, im currently driving a hyundai coupe siii, 2.0litre. im 19, i paid 1200 for the year, and when i phoned up they said they'd refund me 30pounds or something, and thats me insuring a Gt turbo, import, Exhaust, alloys, uprated suspension, uprated brakes.
I'm not 100 percent sure, thats 2years ncb, and a nonfault accident, and 3points.

We find that a very high percentage of import are registered incorrectly, the same thing somethimes happens with UK cars as well.
