Hello boys and girls , erm little situation car tax and mot ran out while I was back home from uni. The car is register at my uni address as is all documentation. Anyway I got a mot down here a day ago passed no problem just issue with emission (haha) now I forgot all my paperwork tax reminder v5 insurance paperwork back at uni 120 miles away. All I have with me is a fresh MOT and a print out of the car showing its insured via MIB website.

Anyone know if its possible to go to post office with this lot and my old tax disk to see if I can get some tax? If that fails could I drive to bournewood DVLA and get tax from them their as they are pretty close.

If uv only got Mot and insurance document on you then download a v10 form or fill one in at post office.

just do it online and it will be with you in a couple of days. i didnt think you could get a tax disc from the post ofice if you didnt have either the reminder or your v5?

I thought he said his at home address at moment?, if he does it online then the tax will get posted to uni address.

depnds where the car is registered. i would assume the v5 would be registered at his home address rather than uni address? i could be wrong though

You can't, but I don't think you can do it online either without the reference on the V5 document, or tax disc renewal document. It's better to have tax even if the disc at the wrong address, than to not have tax at all.

Yea phoned up DVLA they wanted another £30 and £20 for couple of forms I chose to just drive to Bournemouth and got the tax that day not going to fork out £50 when they was just being lazy and trying to get more money all taxed now I don't recommend anyone to do what I did.
