i agree with the animal

on a std engine, TD05 is a bit overkill, as you cant run enough boost to get that badboy going, but on a forged 4e, i was full boost (1.65bar) at 4500 rpm, on standard cams, and by fuck did it shift, after 70 where people expect a starlet to dissapear in the rear view, well she was just coming alive then.

cant wait to do mine :) surely with a worked head cams and a nice inlet the lag should come down on a forged 4e?

i am with a ported /polished head on a 5e and i found the td05 laggy for me the GT28RS si a better way if you want something very agressive.

end of the day anything above a td04 is a lag beast on a 4e. unless you use nitrous or sumthing. td04 is a wicked turbo theres a reason why there so popular - maybe a td05 cud be made a bit better with headwork and stuff but it still be very laggy IMO.

my mapper said he can map igt so it can try bring the turbo on earlier! i reacon with headwork cams and a inlet it wont be as laggy as people say

map can help, headwork cams help too, both are better but you will always get a lag ...you will just fade it
as i said i prefer a garrett turbo

that will make the engine flow better, if you lower your intake temps down with like a chargecooler and nos you will experience next to no lag.

surley the td05 wont last long running anti lagg?, i bought the ccm built starlet last week, i have put the td05 turbo back on and it is booked in for friday
morning to get mapped by russel at dastek in dalgetybay, scotland, ill give you my opinion with the diffrence from a td05 to a td04, as i have drove the
car all week with the td04 set up running a good 270 + bhp, but i couldnt believe the size diffrence from the 4 to the 5 :O

td05 is pretty old school now lads. a vf35 will spool at least 300rpm sooner and kick just as hard top end.
