Thanks to nick and the guys at tuning developments! This is a review of Nick over the last 6 months or so but primarily over the last 2 months or so...

Over the past 2 months i've gone from the CT9 at 1 bar setup (also done by nick) to TD04 at 1.4 bar on a forged engine.

Nick did lots of work for me.

I bought the forged engine and lsd gearbox from bigdoods which nick took delivery of for me.
He fitted a new (to me- bought off bigdoods engine) engine, new gearbox, new driveshaft, helped me in dealing with people who bought my old engine and gearbox and told me what parts i needed etc.
Also had a catch can, paddle clutch, blitz ebc, fast road brake kit, new radiator, td04 kit- mani etc fitted! lots of work.

Nick also put my new gt3's on there too!

(had a few teething probs as had to wait to find a driveshaft as I prev had the oem lsd! and couple more things to be expected with secondhand stuff)

He's been good to see me when I was worried about smoke after the engine was first fitted (was just my second hand turbo - so we arranged to get that replaced)

And then this week I finally got mapped. It was a surprise as nick said the weather had been too poor to do it but it cleared up in the evening and he got it done for me which was mighty appreciated. Was so surprised and made me very happy :D

On the way home i lost boost ( the intercooler pipe popped off ) and nick let me go straight back even though about 9 on a Sunday night and sorted me out showing me how to fix in future...

There was times when I was frustrated - i'd hope the car would be done and then we had a teething problem but in fairness nick always tried to fit me in etc. He was also only a txt away and always giving good advice. Now its mapped i bet he'll be glad to see the back of me for a bit hahaha

Performance!

The car now is a BEAST. Its so savage. If I were to try describe how it feels to me...
(I am no F1 driver etc- I came to the starlet scene last winter from a 1.2 punto! Bought and sold a standard GT within about 6 months and then moved on to a glanza) Then went to emanage blue and ct9 at 1 bar which nick suggested. (thanks for saving me money advising not to bother with hybrid for what i wanted. )The ct9 setup was great.....

However the Mani went on my ct9 - Nick did me a compression test to check all was ok with engine as I had some slight concerns (a worried phonecall when I was on holiday in Scotland!) so I decided I may as well use this oppurtunity to go td04. I then saw a few engines come up for sale and my gearbox was crunching so I decided to just do it all! In for a penny in for a pound! I went forged and changed the gearbox.

That gives you some background to what i'm used to driving etc. Ive not had the pleasure of driving many fast cars etc...

So how does this td04 at 1.4 bar perform TO ME?

Well, it if at standard power factory I decided to rate a 3 (just to give an impression of scale), the ct9 at 1 bar setup would be a 6- It really did make a big difference... Whilst going from ct9 at 1 bar to the td04 at 1.4 setup was at least twice the difference of stock to ct9 1bar... I would rate it now (td04 at 1.4 bar) at like 12!

Its amazing. Boosts so hard and feels so effortless when the boost comes on. Before when you but your foot down it felt like the car was trying. Now it just feels like its not even a task. Still figuring best way to drive and to get used to the bit of lag that inevitably comes with a bigger turbo setup but its great. I am on 4e and get 1bar by like 3700 full boost around 3750-4k i think... Once it starts to spool it gets going rapid. All hell breaks loose and it makes me SMILE soooo much everytime. I just can't believe this kind of performance can be had from this car. It just kicks in like a bucking bronco.

My girlfriend was really patient whilst I had all the work done. Taking me to tuning developments many times (I had to have my car in between times for work) and she was well impressed with what a massive difference there was.

Looking forward to having lots of use out of it now. I hope to do more stuff to the car like coilovers, maybe bodykit etc and seats

If anyone round manchester area ever wants to know whether its worth upgrading and fancies a quick ride let me know...

Thanks again Nick for all your work and patience!

Regards, Tobiah

Hi Tobiah,

Thanks alot for your much detailed feedback of our work, i appreciate you taking the time to write that whole lot out im surprised your not out in the glanza still buddy!

Anyways its been a pleasure to deal with you and it is a very well setup car now, you best be careful in the winter weather though! Its very slippy this time of year.

All you need now is the Coilovers doing and then your car will be pretty complete i think?

If you need anything you know where i am (yeah 24/7 mate as im sure you have found out :) )
