1bar GT running 179bhp... (211bhp/tonne)

'51 e46 M3 (220bhp/tonne)
Lotus Elise 111R (211bhp/tonne)
Impreza RB320 (216bhp/tonne)
(Assuming they are stock, of course)

I gave up wasting petrol on Clio Sports, CTR's and Focus ST's. :homer:

Im sorry but that really doesnt prove anything.

Once again drivers ability/ engine condition etc.... Its not physically possible for a teg to beat an E46 beemer M3 unless there is something seriously wrong.

not tryin to sound a p***k here but i dont care what anyone says.i was there and the teg took it hands down.if another galway member sees this thread im sure they knoe the car im on about and can confrim how fast it is

A 1Bar Starlet is quick, mine felt really quick! Pinned you back in your seat 1st/2nd quite a lot and pulled very hard in higher gears, I managed to make like 180lbft torque as well, so was pretty damn torquey! But again, its not super dooper quick, like, OMG WOW, but its fast enough!!

I'd say my Starbo at 1Bar would get eaten alive by my brothers GT4 at 1.1Bar, if that comparison helps anybody? lol.

Id like to compare my Starlet to a noble M12 :p haha

On a serious note i have never actually raced anything yet, but will soon race summat up Pod when i go to USC. But knowing my luck il get beat by a little chav in totally modded VTS or 106 GTI with no mods declared :|

that is fair enough, i dont doubt your vision. All im saying is something (cannot pin point what it was) but definitely something isnt right as none of the figures add up, the beemer has a much higher power to weight ratio with a bigger engine and alot more torque throughout the rev range.... The M3 is on a different level (stock on stock) ........

Ive also seem some strange things in my time but i know enough to determine whats what, and to know something doesnt add up...

i know exactly how quick tegs are mate :)

And an M3 would blow it easily with 220hp per tonne whilst the teg has around 170hp per tonne..... Drivers ability, how the engines are running etc can determine a teg beating an E46 M3.... If they were both running well with equal drivers teh ITR would get f**ked up its arse ;)

sorry dan but the bhp per tonne for teg is 188.83 for stockish jdm teg. and i absolutely agree with ya stock on stock teg would lose from e46 m3 however teg would stick with m3 depend on driver cause most of the time it depend on driver.

and for the thread running 1 bar on starlet would be crazy and you would keep up with load of cars till certain speed, i know a lad with ek9 he has like spoon intake and decat plus full exhaust and he made laughing stock of td04 glanza running around 215 mark on back roads. so don't expect to beat Ferraris as the lads mentioned.

lol, really dont wana split hairs but apparently its 181bhp per tonne for the 197bhp model (DC2) http://www.letstorquebhp.com/fwd.asp ...

So you are correct the JDM model has about 10hp more per tonne.... Either way, i am just splitting hairs, You and me both know as youve clearly stated if there was nothing wrong and both drivers were using the cars to full potential the M3 would win.....

From experience, I've found that 10-15 bhp/tonne difference between cars often (but not always) means the square root of fuck all speed difference, until you get to higher speeds. The couple of times I've been out on track I've found that cars I thought I would pants past, I can't. That said, The Bitch has got a failed head gasket and it's entirely possible she was losing power. Even so, figures on paper can sometimes not quite translate to what you actually see on road.

Let's be careful with the direction this thread is heading in too. Any further mentions of street racing and it'll be in the Muppet section. ;)
