I think a stronger box is the way to go.

I wouldn't like to to go backwards in terms of power, but I do see where your coming from sacodetoro, in my case to go down 100hp all I need to do is keep the nitrous switched off and run the less aggressive Super Unleaded map.

At the moment though I'm edging closer to strengthening the drivetrain and my current power levels.

When I have the car as reliable as I would like, then I'll take her to the Pod and try out a proper surface, thats where the 11sec runs are I think.

yes will take a trip over there aswell 11s can be got at the pod

What boots are you running on the front? You'll be mid to low 13s I would think. The cars going to have plenty of power available.

I'll have to run a 12 in June, won't be trying so hard in May, but ifone pops up then fair enuf. 12.5 is the target though

im getting a set of coilovers but not for 6 weeks need to drop this thing to the deck :rockon:im not going for the toms bumper now because il have to keep taking it off for the racing

Lol, what tyres are you for running?

You'd only need it off if you where running 14"s, with 15"s the tyres to wide to lower it to the extreme on the front.

Lol It'll do 14s unmapped, especialy with the improved box. Soft R888s will be grand, I was running 13.7s at 260hp on medium r888s. I'll prob be running my R888s in May also.

if i run low 13s il be happy for the first time i know then what i need to run a better time next outingive still alot of things to change and upgrade so all going well i can change things bit by bit to see if the times inprove but a trip as you said to the pod will yeild the fastest starlet times by far..nice runway for high powered starlets

All you can do is change things and experiment. I've tried a few new things out this year, some have worked, some have failed horribly.

The final drive I installed slowed me down. The nitrous from my testing from running both with and without it is giving me 0.4 of a second improvment and that was only running it in 4th gear. I'm hopeing with the longer FD back in I can use it from 3rd gear.

The standalone will give me alot of options currently unavailable.

You can only try it out, personally it made things more difficult for me but the last time I used it was on R888s, with the increased grip of Slicks it may be a good option.

I would need to have it on a switch though cause it makes burn outs a little more hassel.

haha 405 torque, i aint suprised the box exploded lol, yeh get it fully setup for drag 100% spuddy...dogbox, strengthened driveshafts etc..and 13inch drag wheels and tyres. break some records :drive:

With an ECU with nos control then it will know to retard those extra few degrees when the button is pushed and at all other times run the advanced map.

@richglanzav It's still amazing that the car lasted alot fo torture when mapping and nearly 2 full drag events on the stock box before a box failure. My worry now though is cause I'm going to run a longer final drive then 3rd gear will be engaged alot longer on each run and needs to take the abuse for longer.

Yea Tex, by dog box I mean straight cut gears with dog engagement.

I havn't had a look at the syncros yet, I have ordered new ones as a precaution though. I would be surprised if they havn't suffered damage, the amount of metal fragments in the box was insaine. They were all brand new syncros fitted about 6 months ago.

@Madman, thats a big looking turbo, which of the VF series is it?

am not sure what turbo it is spuddy mate,i was told they go wel on these wee motors here's another picture of it maybe you can tell me better
