bloody hell they do seem high but then again it can go on ya post code to, have you tryed flux??

I know there not for everyone but they quoted me £450 fc and that was with mod's, 9 points an 1 claim, i was 31 with full no claim discount..

Postcode can play a huge part in the price.

For example im 22, Not the best reading licence, And zero no claims with admiral im £900

Seems like a joke sometimes! I see people on here who are years younger getting lower quotes, even with the same company. Apparently I live in the best area too (which is bull shit, cars keep getting damaged round here including mine). I'm sure they just chuck a dart at a board to generate there prices.

seems a bit shit, unless ur in a poor postcode.

im in the same postcode as captain starlet, my quote from admiral was, 25 , 2years ncb, CD30 with 6 months ban, i was quoted £610 fully comp.

Im with Swinton Imports, & its just come up to renewal time but im still gonna check out a few others, Brentacre being one of the ones i tried last year but their quote was a bit higher than Swinton. I struggled majorly living in Blackpool & at my old address was paying about £900 then i moved about 5 miles away & the price tumbled down to nearly half that (keep in mind im 28 with 8 years no claims or convictions touch wood!).

Location certainly is everything & when your 28 years old & places wont quote you then you do start to get a bit frustrated, even more so when people who are 19 are managing to get insurance for 1400-1500 or in some cases less, im not knocking those who can, believe me if id had the choice to get a GT Turbo at 19 then i certainly would have!

I tried Sky & they wouldnt quote me down to my postcode, that call lasted about 30 seconds.

Flux well they said i didnt have enough experience driving fast vehicles (A Celica GT & a 100+ Bhp Austin Mini being the other cars i had insured with them myself for a fair few years! Ive also been on other peoples policies as a named driver with them for an RX8 & another 100+ bhp mini & a subaru impreza STI) which left me rather annoyed, even more so given that i was actually on a temporary one month policy with them for the same funking car!

I also tried Endseigh & i knew i would struggle when i mentioned the ECU being different & he replied with "whats an ECU?" at that point i can remember wondering how much an ad in auto trader would be despite not having owned the car for a month yet, i had all this grief in one day lol!

Anyhow i digress lol, Swinton Imports - no problems with them plus they dont charge you for moving house (admin fees and the like) which is nice, i only dealt with Brentacre for the quote but they were very nice & have heard good things about them, definately pays to ring round but also pays to keep a list of those who wont touch you as it saves a lot of hassle come renewal time.

By all means give Sky, Flux etc a try & if they are giving you quotes then youre doing better than i was, just takes a bit of leg work & looking outside the usual Admiral & Elephants of this world (which i think are the same company),.
