I say it depends...
If the old one is bad, but not that bad that the ecu will notice, then the long trim will be affected one way or another. If you "mapped" the the manage on this base, then it's possible that your fueling will be affected. This shouldn't really matter for WOT conditions.
Either way, just change it and monitor your AFR readings for sometime.
