does it sound a bit like a spring? if so it is just the mechanism for the clutch release bearing arm. just lubricate it if you ever have the box out and it should be fine.

thanx, ill look into that

My gt used to do it until i changed the clutch now its fine as i lubricated it.

my other starlet does it but im not really worried. you can spray some wd40 in there and that can cure it for a time, it can be a bit risky if it finds its way onto the clutch disk though.

Would it not simply be the pedal return spring and/or pedal pivots creaking rather than the clutch itself? :homer:

could be i guess, but ive had the same problem with both starlets so suspect it would be that. its nothing to do with he clutch itself. just the arm the pivots from the slave cylinder to move the release bearing.

you mean it doesnt just make a noise while your moving the pedal, as long as its depressed by any amount?

if so then it wont be what i said, nor what monkfish said. next thing i would say it is, is the clutch release bearing itself

is that serious? or minor?

hard to say. if its the bearing it depends how bad it is worn. it may fall apart or seize, worst case. or it may just be noisy and cause you no problems.

its really hard to say. i would get it checked out and if possible stick a new clutch kit in it, that way you will have a new clutch and release bearing so wont have to worry about either in the near future.
