wnt go in gear...sometimes!!

Ive got a ep91 just had new 4 paddle clutch and lightend flywheel fitted along with full recon engine and new turbo so box and block has come out.Everthing was fine for about 5 mins n then it didnt want to go into 4th just felt like there was no gear there and finally managed to get it in after sum severe slamming.when it wasnt goin in it would make crunching but only when i forced the gearstick back.but then after bout 20 mins it was doin the same thing in 2nd aswell and then bout 10 mins after that stopped the car tried to put it in reverse n did the same.but the stange thing is it will go in these gears some times fine with no noise and pulls well and other times wnt have any of it.my mate sed it mite be a selector because its the bottom 3 gears if u get me drift.the top 3- 1st 3rd 5th never a problem.any help apreciated asap.thanks

Hey dude check your gear cables.
Sounds like one could have come
off at the box or the one that
selects those gears is damaged.
Same thing happend me:)

ive got act 4 paddle clutch good i think up to 350 lbs.just spoke to me mechanic and hes sayin gearbox oil but nt able to check as its in for mot all day!!

thats what i was thinkin but nt sure meself the mechanic said it was either not enuf oil or the wrong oil.but you say it was the cables for those gears on yours which would make a bit more sense !!how easy was it to fix n how would i go about it??thanks

i had this type of problem there was no chance of going in to 1st, 3rd or 5th. 2nd & 4th was going in with brute force, eventually i couldnt change gears, found that one of the selector cables had given way and this was the reason, replaced them and its perfectly fine now.
