i find it hard to believe theyd sell a crashed car when there standards are so high
they wouldnt risk there name when they have such a good 1

If they had high standards then i wouldnt have found a bent car, and others that had fundemental faults!

ive seen some dogs there too, that was the one at keighley, dont get me wrong there are minters too, but if you are on a budget and are tempted to get one of their cheaper range be warned it might bark

At the end of the day peeps, if you know your way around cars (as in, you're mechanically minded and can spot hidden/potential problems), then the buck stops with you... If you don't have this knowledge, then buy from someone with a good reputation to avoid any issues... Simple eh? ;)

I bought my Glanza from there and it was spot on when me and my mate checked it over the day I bought it. The day after we took it round to a mechanic and he also said it was fine. Recently had its MOT at Toyota and apart from the rear shocks being past there best he also said it was spot on.

I think this proves that every garage can sell decent cars that are in good condition and also some shitters. Not just WRC sales.

"WRC-Sales are proud to announce the acquisition of Torque of Keighley

This move has allowed us to expand our car stock significantly in order to meet the needs and requirements of our customers. The take-over of Torque of Keighley, has enabled us to gain competitive advantage within the West Yorkshire region.

In our next venture we are looking at the possibility of acquiring a purpose built showroom"

Worryingly, Torque were owned by Keighley, so don't know what's going on there...

I've been there...the one they recently took over.

Won't let you test drive a car unless you commit to buying it after....

that sounds pretty off to me, you should be able to test drive a motor without commiting to buying it. basically i think most places you go to will always have one or two dogs slip through the net. it doesnt mean they are crooks or have low standards. obviously its the buyers responsability to ensure the car is to your own standard that your willing to part cash for. however splits on chasis welds sounds a bit severe i would like to think they checked them well enough to ensure its road worthy and safe because that then falls into the dealers responsability.

I can completly understand the fact that they would have a couple of cars that were not up to par...It is bradford after all.the fact the car was noticeably bent was alarming, and even more so when the guy there denied it and told me i was wrong.

Surely if somone is running what could be a high class import service all cars should be checked thoroghly and priced accordingly.and not told on the phone...''ye mate the cars mint..its mint..its mint.ready to go man..its mint'' when honestly its not!!

I'm not slating the whole company, and I leave it to peoples own judgement, I'm merely stating my experiences, as asked

I was desperately after a Starlet, of which there were nearly half a dozen, i had enough cash on me to buy 2, and they let me walk out empty handed! Clearly, doesn't that just say they weren't up to scratch!!?

Everyone make of it what they will.

Just make sure, if you go there, take someone with expertise in this field so you don't end up paying for a minter and getting a banana!

I'm not very fond of car company's, too much BS, normally find that you normally know more about the car than the seller.

For starlets its easier to buy from known good traders, ie Mark and Trevor, Toby etc.

I've had two great cars from Mark ;)

Indeed you have! :p Cheers mate!

To put it into perspective..i bought my latest car from Mark on here. I phoned him up and asked if there were any marks on the car. he told me that there was 2 minor pin dents, and even went out of his way to photograph them.. That is an honest seller.the kind of seller i think we would all want importing and selling cars...right??

You'll make me blush if you carry on...

they are selling a good'un atm, has a doobie kit on it

Indeed, that was the one i was wanting, id booked off wecnesday afternoon and was gonna go dwon and give it a look over with my deposit in hand.

It only had a bride seat that looked brand new, full apexi system, cusco coilovers, hks ssqv dumpvale, full doobie kit and 16's with 41k on the clock, the only thing that concerned me was it was £3,450 ( i think) but i suppose it was a 1992 model.....

funny this post turning up, i picked my car up from potters bar, herts. i know it had been bought from WRC, i was searching for something last night and found the receipts for the car, the first mot and a printout from an RR day at dastek.

Even though some of you know that my car had a light bump at the o/s. After a year of sitting around gradually building it up it went for its mot, which apart from a set of wiper blades it passed, even though i had fitted brand new panels and a headlight the light didnt even need adusting?

But moving away from that if you were to look under my car you would think it had just left the factory, its mint apart from the underseal which i swear by now. so iv got to say i might have been one of the lucky ones? but no place on earth has a perfect reputation.

i bought my car from wrc sales and to be honest it looked a minter, i had a good look round it and it was fine apart from the abs light been on.
I said i would buy the car if they fixed the abs!
when i went back to pick up the car the abs light was out and they said it was fixed, nice one!!
2 weeks later i slammed on the brakes hard for a dog and low and behold no abs i just went skidding.
i took my dials out the same day to change a bulb and found the abs circuit had been smashed through, i wasnt impressed.
also i had really bad wheel wobble. after getting the wheels balanced and tracked i still had this problem.
any way went back to wrc they said the guy that had fixed (if you can call it that) the abs was not answering his phone and they hadn't heard anything from him for ages but they eventually ordered my 2 new tyres for the front which cured the wheel wobble=dodgy tyres on the new wheels from them.!!!
also how my car could have passed an mot through them with no driver seat belt, a split cv boot and an abs light on the dash i dont no!!
just my little point!!

yeah i no of another 2 people who have had the same problems with the tyres too!!

thing is when i was checking for a blown fuse one day the abs one was missing. i put a new one in and hey abs now works!!
something so simple and probably cheaper to fix, and without damaging anything!!

well like a few have said they sound dodgy as, also not that im complaining, my car had a de-cat pipe on it and it passed its mot. i work in an mot station and if a car has a cat as standard then it cant pass, so theres another dodgy point

a friend of mine and member on here; Si-W .. bought a white Glanza with red wheels off WRC a few months ago...
BILD0159.jpg

he took me out in it.. and i was less than impressed!!! i read through the logbook (being a nosey sod.... and it said it was a 1.5L

(not knowing much about the GT's and Glanza's.. hence why i joined this site) i checked the engine.. and it tallied up... engine code... 5E

after dropping me off.. he called to say he'd got home and there was oil all over the engine bay!!! i popped round the next night, to see what the problem was... only to find a 20mm bore flexi pipe coming off the BACK of the sump and disapearing up behind the engine hidden within the wiring etc this was sprying th oil over the engine!!

i asked a few knowledgeble friends to pop round and check it out.. and we discoverd that it had the 5E engine fitted with all the turbo etc.. breather pipes blocked up with bolts... running really bad!!!

just how the MOT was aqquired with NO working rear fog light .. im not quite sure??

eventually they agreed to fully refund Si... due to the car being sold as a 1.3 and actually being an NA 1.5 with the turbo setup!! however to come wo this deal .. it required 3 cars going and a Toyota Mechanic to "prove" werent lying!!!

personally.. even if they had my ultimate dream car come in... i would not buy from them simply due to this experience!!

im sure people have bought off them and had no problems... BUT if something as serious as an unsuitable engine is overlooked.... what else is???

I see, may be worth someone going down there to see if its been fixed, or if it is still buggered..
I can completly understand the fact that every dealer will have a few lemons..but here it seems to be too frequent for my liking.
