Anyone on here read this site? I look daily

Some interesting reading on swine flu, and talk of scaling back vitimans that can be bought in shops

This site give real facts on news, not like RTE that only reports on job losses and various car crashes around Ireland

worth a peep if you are not a sheep and are open minded...

I am a believer in taking all sides of the story and sifting through the crap to find the facts, it is not always easy though.

RSS can help a lot. Every morning I get all the updated RSS feeds and it is amazing how similar all the headlines are but how very different the content of each news agency's story is. It is a clear indicator that every side of the media has an agenda.

Infowars is a good site and Alex Jones has some interesting things to say. I like some of his documentaries.

The above said however there is clearly a group of people in America that hate Obama... it is very evident. And they want to discredit him every step of the way.

Vice-Versa

Every time I turn the TV on over here there are advertisments on featuring Obama talking about how fantastic social healthcare would be for the country.

Media is a very interesting topic and I could type pages about my feelings on it but its much more interesting to sit back and observe, skeptically, the various media organisations around the globe and how vastly different their reports are.

You mentioned RTE above... holy shit are they shocking! I recently discussed an observation I made regarding RTE news website with a friend of mine... at the risk of boring you :) I will share:

I went on to the rte website to check on the latest news and saw the report in to "an bord snip nua had been released.

The story below this was about SIPTU saying there would be long and regular industrial action if there were cuts in pay or forced redundancies in the public sector.

The story below that was about the economic and social research institute (ESRI) releasing a statement that in their opinion there was scope for pay reductions in the public sector.

The story below that was about the Lees cross report in to nursing home abuse.

So.... what does this tell us? well The main story for that day was the an bord snip nua report. The unions weighed in with their objection. Fianna Fail who control RTE then get the ESRI who are funded by the government to release a report of their own which is independent of the an bord snip report but basically backs it up thus discrediting the unions statement and then the HSE/department of health release the damning report on nursing home abuse because they know it wont grab the main headline of the day and so will cause least amount of damage to the government.

The above is total manipulation of the media and in the case of RTE manipulation would not even be th right word as the government control them so it is total USAGE of the media to control the effect of negative events on the public and attempt to minimize the impact on the government.

Media is interesting... but the amount of people who believe what mainstream media tells them is actually very worrying. There are too many sheep in this world.
