View Full Version : DOT 4 Brake Fluid Recommendations?

I'm going to be changing my brake fluid soon.

From what I've been reading here and on the old site, DOT 4 will suit my needs just fine as I don't need the higher boiling point of DOT 5.1 as I don't do track days and I'm not that hard on my brakes.

Motul RBF600 is bought up a lot on the old site but it was also said this needed changing regularly (6 month intervals) - is this true as I am looking for something that will last longer?

If so then what about Castrol Response DOT 4 or their Response Super DOT 4? Is there any drawbacks with choosing the Super over the standard (apart from price which isn't an issue)? Would it need changing more often?

Can anyone that uses DOT 4 brake fluid recommend a good brand for me? :D Thanking you kindly.

Just go for genuine Toyota 5.1 brake fluid, best bet in all honesty and easy to obtain.

I'm also using Motul RBF600 as well and so far it pretty good stuff. Every opinion I've read on this has been a good one as well.

wel always use castrol response dot 4, seems to be the best thing on most cars with normal driving.
