Just wondered how much people were paying for a standard RR Dyno session with print-outs etc? Ive been quoted £88 for a session near me, don't really know if that's good or bad?

£50+vat is the usual asfaik. I paid £35 but that was on a RR day, so was a lot cheaper! £88 seems a lot, but how many runs are they giving you? Normally its 2, maybe they're giving you more?

They said it was an hours worth but didnt specifically say how many runs. I'd imagine you could get a few runs in an hour???

Well the woman I spoke to just said that a session to get torque/bhp figures etc was £75 before VAT, no mention of tuning. It was Weston Performance by the way if anyone has any experience of them?

Anywhere else in the West Midlands that has a RR?

IMO Thor provide an excellent service with extremely helpful and knowledgably staff. (This is my own personal experience)

The RR is carried out directly on the hub so you don’t loose anything and they will talk you through what they are doing.

I no there are mixed views on here about them but you find that with most places.

Ok cool thanks Elaine! Just had a look on the net and they charge £70 after VAT for a RR session. It says they give you around 6 runs aswell which sounds good IMO.

As soon as I get one of Dane's mani's I think. I would get it done asap but I dont want to be wondering what Ive gained after the mani if you know what I mean and paying again. Suppose it would be nice to see the increase but dont really want to waste money unneccessarily.

Ridiculous :p!

Shame that it would cost me like £1000 to get my car out there lol!

My personal experience is that they are a let down, I did not recieve the good service that Elaine did. Apparently they lost their decent tuner after Elaine went and before I did, so that could be the reason.

Well if you fancy a road trip to Dorset I am hosting a RR on the 31st May :D

i wasnt too keen on the whole layout off Thor, they may of had a good reputiation but frmo when i went with sam i was dissapointed to see how they opperate. its basically a normal mechanics garage with a farty little fan they put in front of your car.

If yours just having a power run at weston they dont just stick the car on and say its making this much power... they will put LOTs of diffrent sensors on the car and tell you how healthy the engine is. i.e knock sensor, intake temps and obviasly a/f ratio.

if you pop down and have alook youll see there deffinatly into there business.

As Dan said already can highly recommend Weston Perforamance, very very professional and really have a passion for what they do. The prices may not be as competitve as the rest but i would much rather go to Weston and pay that bit more knowing i will get a reliable quality tune at the end of the day.

Goldenvtr what do you mean it’s a normal mechanics garage??

When you went did they close the car off behind large doors when they were rooling it??

Just trying to find out some info before I make the how ever many hours drive it is to get my car mapped.

Elane - Yea it just seemed to be like every other mechanics garage to me, a tunning garage too me should be more customer apealing. they didnt really have a dyno room as such, just a closed of section to the garage . At weston they have a room with the dyno and a viewing room next to it and also a PC in which you can record you dyno runs if you wanted to as theres some cameras in there, also about 3 screens showing you what the tuner is doing i.e it displays your figuers ect.

Thor was more of a drop your car off any hang about not knowing whats going on.

weston you can watch every move during the whole process.

That’s fair enough I have been to many different “turning” places over the years and find they all seem to vary.

Triton Motor sport (my local) is set up very similar to Thor it is a mechanical work shop first and a Dyno centre second. There RR is open you can stand right next to it while they carry out the run.

I think the thing with Thor and to be fair most of there places if you take your car there to get mapped ect they would like to be left alone to do it.

Triton will not allow you in the workshop while there setting the car up and they keep the car for 2 days so once it’s dropped off they send you on your way
