need some info on these please, I know quite a few of you guys are running modified versions of stock calipers from different cars...
now, I've looked, and I can't seem to find much...all I've found is hardcoreep
s writeup on his website, which is great, but those parts aren't exactly plentiful around here..I'd like to run 2 pots, or even 4 pots...I remember seeing somethign about celica brakes being modified to fit, anymore info on that would be awesome
so all you guys running custom setups for brake calipers, please share :)

Pretty sure the wilwood's that come with Dave's brakes (http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/showthread.php?t=1707) are 2 pots.

well celica was only an option if you were ready to drill 3 holes...

There are plenty of options out there for some fantastic brakes, you just need to have a look around.

I must say 2 pot conversion would be hardly worth it unless your a verry good mechanic, the other prolem with the 2 pot conversions is the discs aren't thick enough and the pots pop out = no brakes at all. Either the zep gts brake conversion or endless, willwood ect.

i think this may have been a specific problem to ae111/101 calipers maybe. What brakes u running?

Thats the ones im running:p they come on more than just those corollas though. and dont always asume that you have to used the brakediscs from them, shop around ;)

i know it can be sorted with thicker discs but if you haven't one day you may find once your pads are running low you pop a piston out or 2.

golden please share some details.....
@monkfish yes I'm well aware there are several options available, hence the reason for this thread...if you could elaborate on some of these options, I'd be thankfu
I have searched, but since the move to the new site, there's not much to search from, I literally just went through the 5 pages in the suspension section and found nothing useful on this topic

i have posted a few times about the celica 2 pot upgrade asing celica 25mm thick discs. i drilled the discs and have had no cracks or problems. however new 4 /5 hole multi fit discs are available.
unfortunaltely a lot of people thought it was dangerous so dont really advertise the fact. the extra power and fade free performance is amazing compared to stock.

i dont get any fading to speak of and ive got mine pretty hot before!
obviously on the track they would probably be shit after a couple of laps but for the street they are more than adequate

36 10 grooved discs, pagid pads, braided brakeslines and dot 5.1 fluid. nothing special but for road use i have found them to be plenty good enough. if you had a different turbo or you wanted to use the car alot for the track then im sure they would not be that good, but otherwise im happy!

I would be really appreciate if someone can point out which caliper will suit to starlet without bracket? I know that the AE101 Levin with superstrut suspension will fit straight on, what other else? From a Celica, which model?

I was going to keep it quiet as I have plans, but bollocks to it, I may as well share the knowledge. :)
I'm staying Jap, but I'm going to be running stock Nissan 200sx s14a disks and calipers. 2 pots and 270-280mm disks for £150-200? Thank you very much. Get some brackets made up and I'd have a big brake setup that cost less than £300 to build and would probably do just as well as some of the expensive kits out there.
The other good thing is, the Brembo 4 pots off the R34 fit the same brackets, I'm just not sure if they tuck under 16's. Should do, but they're expensive to get hold of as it's a common s14a upgrade (Which is why there are always disks and calipers knocking around). The only other problem is the calipers say "Nissan", but that's nothing an angle grinder won't fix :homer:
There are plenty more options to go for, but that one is readily available (I'm good friends with one of the South Wales rep's for SXOC, so I can get hand-me-down bits). What you want to look for is a large performance car that runs 16" wheels and large brakes stock. Guaranteed they'll be upgraded with something else, so there should be plenty available. Would be able to get replacements from motor factors too :p

i hope you mean r34 gtt calpiers and not gtr calipers as the grt calipers are too powerful and you won't be able to control the breaking as the wheels will lock to easily. Hence why the zep kits use gts calipers. Tbh i don't see a car the size of a starlet needing larger discs just more pots.

to take your car on the track you need thicker discs , not necessarily larger.

thats basicaly what i am saying. Larger disc give a greater breaking force with no increase in progression. You only need larger discs if you add on a load of weight. Thicker discs are more to do with heat i think to reduce break fade which would be very useful for track days.
