hi, im 17 and will be driving soon. i want to get a glanza as a first car because i have heard awsome reviews about them + i am a great fan of jap turbos. seein as the glanza is a 1.3, i thought insurance wouldnt be so hard to get even though its a turbo.
would i be able to get insured if i have a full uk license with passplus, i will be getting insured on my moms name (she has full no claims bonus and has a clean license), i also live in a good area of birmingham.
would it be possible to get insured at this age? if so i am hoping to pay no more than £2000 as i will be payin £4000 for the car alone.
could someone please get back to me, any info will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
herbie

Sky wont insure you until your 22.
Even though its just a 1.3, insurance is very expensive for Glanza's.

you may possibly get insured by someone, but at 17 you'll be paying more than 2k
plus, do you not want something you can learn to drive properly in, i know you would have passed, but its a different kettle of fish out there on your own,

Hi,
without meaning to be rude.. that is not right and please do not post inaccurate information about us. We can insure anyone who is aged over 19 with 2 years driving experience. Why do you think we are over 22's only??

I dont think you have a hope in hell of getting insured at 17 on a Glanza.
And do not even think about insuring it as a GL:mad:

mate no chance at 17 unless its not insured properly which is obviously illegal.
sorry to say but just because its a 1.3 doesnt mean it will be low,
its still got 135hp out of the box so is alot quicker than most your 1.6 or even 2.0's
if you really want a turbo try a starlet gt turbo as you will get quotes but expect 3000+...
if not then unfortunately you will have to wait

Yep as mentioned above mate, patience is the key here. Grab yourself a little cheap runaround for a few years. get as much experience as possible driving that (driving in bad conditions and having to do proper emergency stops etc) then grab a glanza when your 19/20. also the money you save now and in between will be there for you to start on your modding jouney with the glanza ;)
You would kick yourself if you spent all your hard earned money on a mint glanza only to write it off 6 months down the line (not that im saying you would btw) But you could really stitch yourself up with insurance if you ever had to make a claim. Good thing with an old banger is that if you do have an off, and maybe damage the car a bit, the worst thing hit will be your ego and not really your bank balance or no claims discount

I insured my GT when i was 18 mate and was paying £2300 on a 10 month bonus accelerator. At 17 years old i was not being offered insurance on it ... not because its a 1.3 but its as soon as you mention the word "Turbo".
Start off in something smaller, why not even a UK Starlet? Still great cars and will alot cheaper than trying to insure a GT/Glanza.
Get some NCB under your belt and very soon the insurance will drop :)
