Trying to do the clear indicator mod as in the tutorial done by Jay,

Been having a bit of problems getting the last bit of glue out as on the first one I kind of broke it, and once broken, I noticed how the glue is under the lense, yet I don't see how you could access that bit without cracking the lense or really damaging the black plastic.

Any hits or tips from folk who have done it before?

Aye, it's a bollocks to do mate.

My advice is to put it down and come back later when you have cooled off. I've introduced more than a few to Mr Hammer out of pure fustration..

Heat can help soften the glue and I've modified a few screwdrivers to help make it easier but there is the odd one which still defeats me.

I was hoping for a nice easy answer lol

At the moment I've attacked it, well totally submersed it in white spirit in an attempt to make the glue disolve so to say. As that seemed to make it a little easier on the one I broke until I got fed up haha.

Fancy making me a set? :D Pretty please!

Hey if i were u i would try nail varnish remover instead of the white spirits believe it or not it can be very good with removing glue.....x

thanks for hte advice both of ya.

My way worked in the end, worked like a charm which surprises me tbh. Outer black edge has very very little marking from it and the lense is as it was so success!

Both repped for helping anyway :)

so you submerged it in white spirit which loosens the glue and ten you pry it off?

Pretty much like. It turns it into a creamy like white stuff! Although you need to do it a few times once you have cleared a layer off if you get me.

Break down of what I did:
-Submerge totally in white spirit for an hour or 2 (could probably do less, but the more the merrier).
-Take out and dry off.
-Heat the whole thing with a hair dryer (mainly area you're working in).
-Start at front edge, working out the glue that you can, and since it's nice and hot it will be flexible enough to help stop chewing it.
-Then the bottom, heat that area with hair dryer and remove as much as you can.
-Then top, heat as well, same again.
-Once you have done 3 sides, work open the side thats closest to the wing, as this is the hardest side.
-Re suberged in spirits, this will help loosen off any glue remaining on the 3 sides already done and should get into the hardest to get to side
-Then go over the 3 you have done as the first time you do it, the spirits only get to the easy parts if you get me. (heating whatever side you're working on).
-Then I did the hardest side again, lever it open (with heat) then re submerge for half an hour.
-lastly, the hardest to get to side, I jammed a screw driver into each latch point so it wouldn't catch and pushed the lense off (heating the glue and area again).

It also slides off in a forward motion as well, this isn't very clear until you have the lense off, or have broken one like i did :D hahaha

Hope that helps and show the love with some rep! :D
